Hello guys, my PC keeps crashing no matter if I play games or if its idle. It keeps taking place at random times and so far I haven't been able to reckognize some sort of pattern. I mostly get this error:

Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.4
Locale ID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 3b
BCP1: 00000000C0000005
BCP2: FFFFF8000307054C
BCP3: FFFFF88008EF9000
BCP4: 0000000000000000
OS Version: 6_1_7601
Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 256_1

I have run the memtest86 and found no issues.
I have a Core i5-3570K CPU @ 3.4K 4CPUs, on a Z77 Extreme4 Motherboard, 8Gb of RAM and an ATI Radeon HD 5870 video card.
I would really appreciate it if you could help me. And thanks in advance for any reply.

I notice that you have windows 7 Enterprise edition, did this PC come form your work/had windows installed by the company you work for? If it was I would contact your IT department before actually doing anything to the PC. If it was not installed by your work then the install is likely counterfeit, as Enterprise edition is only sold in bulk not in single copies.

Thank you for your reply! Yes it was installed by my work. The office then closed and I got the PC for my own to do as I please with it, so I kept it as it was with the Windows 7 Enterprise Edition. Anyway its a long story. So the main problem is the Windows installation? I have a Windows 7 Home Premium Edition disk, if I format the PC and use them instead will this defenitely solve the constant BOSD?

I will need to check on hat please hold tight, I will ask one of our licensing experts about this and see what he has to say. in the meant time try running some virus scans using Malwarebytes and Tdsskiller to make sure there isn't an infection on your PC

Hello any newer information? I will go towards the new OS solution after formating the machine. But I don't think that this will help at all. I am afraid that I might have a hardware problem. Is it possible to be seen in the dump files I sent you if it is a software or a hardware problem?

unfortunately you may be right about the hardware, but before you go spending money (unless you want to) lets try a few things

So you are aware it appears that your graphics card driver is at fault here:

Code:
fffff880`08ef8bc8 fffff880`05b0ece4Unable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\atikmdag.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for atikmdag.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for atikmdag.sys
 atikmdag+0x98ce4

Driver Reference Table - atikmdag.sys

The driver its self is up to date:

Code:
start end module name
fffff880`05a76000 fffff880`065e9000 atikmdag T (no symbols)
    Loaded symbol image file: atikmdag.sys
    Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\atikmdag.sys
    Image name: atikmdag.sys
    [COLOR="Red"]Timestamp:        Thu Mar 28 22:27:04 2013[/COLOR] (5154FBF8)
    CheckSum: 00B25604
    ImageSize: 00B73000
    Translations: 0000.04b0 0000.04e4 0409.04b0 0409.04e4

which could point to two possible things, a bad driver, or hardware problems. So lets start with the simpler of the two to diagnose, which is the driver, to do this please do the following:

Open the start menu and right click on computer

From the drop down menu select manage (this my bring up a UAC prompt accept it if it does)

In the computer management window expand the system tools and double click on device manager

Once in the device manager window expand the display adapters

Right click the item named after your video card and select properties

In the properties window select the driver tab

In the driver tab select roll back driver, you may need to reboot once this completes.

If this does not work and you still have BSOD problems then please run the following hardware tests:

Furmark to stress test your GPU:

FurMark: VGA Stress Test, Graphics Card and GPU Stability Test, Burn-in Test, OpenGL Benchmark and GPU Temperature | oZone3D.Net

FurMark Setup:
- If you have more than one GPU, select Multi-GPU during setup
- In the Run mode box, select "Stability Test" and "Log GPU Temperature" (BurnIn test in newer versions).
Click "Go" to start the test
- Run the test until the GPU temperature maxes out - or until you start having problems (whichever comes first).
- Click "Quit" to exit

Video memory stress test:

Download Video Memory Stress Test - MajorGeeks

Allow this to run for at least 8 passes

Technically, Enterprise Edition Licenses belong only to the company - and cease to be valid if the company ceases to exist for whatever reason, or ceases to update its volume licensing.
That said, it doesn't usually cause problems until either a reinstall is required, or validation fails.
For what version and edition of Windows is the machine licensed, according to the COA sticker on the case?
