Solved BSOD on shutdown - DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE 0x9F 0x3

I would greatly appreciate some help in tracking down this problem. Thank you so much for your valuable time and expertise! THANK YOU.

Problem: Upon shutdown, Windows 7 will say shutting down for about 8 minutes and then blue screen. Otherwise, the pc runs fine; it just won't shutdown.

Thank You. I've confirmed what you found. The cause was Asmedia 104x USB 3.0 controller.

I was already using the current driver on the Asus website and Asmedia does not offer driver downloads. However, found a more recent driver that seems to have fixed the issue. I will report back after a week to confirm that the driver resolved the issue. Thank You for identifying the cause of the BSOD which is the most important part of troubleshooting.
