Hi,
I have not made any software chages that im aware of last time i was on my laptop. However now when i turn it on as normal and once i get to the windows screen and the windows sign has appeared it waits a second and then i get the blue screen. Then when i reboot and try to start in safemode by pressing f8 i only get start windows normally and launch windows start up repair options. Yesterday i did try to download skype and it froze my computer completely but i turned it off and on again and all was normal.

I have a Dell inspiron 1470 with windows 7 home premium 64bit.

ive attached a picture of the blue screen before it restats.

any help would be greatly appreciated as i do not want to loose everything.

It's blaming Daemon Tools driver for a bug that I commonly see from it on older versions. However this is a nonfatal error so I'm not sure why it's crashing on it. Typically this error should only occur when Driver Verifier is activated. Did you ever turn on Driver Verifier? Otherwise, there may be a bigger issue here.

Anyways, obviously you're having trouble even entering Safe Mode. Make sure you are pressing F8 prior to the Windows logo appearing. You may need to keep pressing it as soon as the PC powers up until you get the display option to go into Safe Mode.

Hi many thanks for your reply, Windows start up repair has just fixed it! after the "loading the files" phase it took at least an hour with no actioin on the screen then suddenly repaired it. All seems to be running ok now.
Thanks for your help, I'll uninstall deamon tools just to be safe
