Uninstall McAfee Using McAfee Removal Tool. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.

Report us for any further BSOD after doing it.

Uninstall McAfee and install MS Security Essentials and MalwareBytes.

   Note

Make sure you uncheck the 'Enable Free Trial' box when installing.

thanks to both !!! McAfee's been kicked to the curb and running the full scan from Essentials now -- quick scan came back with no errors --this is the new url for MSE
