Hi, I've recently installed a new coirsair 4gb ddr3 RAM and I've get a random BSOD after logging in, playing games, surfing and so on. I've decided to run Memtest86+(boot up using USB) on the new RAM but it passed all the tests (Standard test). I even tested it using Windows Memory diagnostics but it came clean.

Then I decided to take out the 4gb RAM and only use the existing 2gb Apacer RAM and until now, I don't have a BSOD yet.

My system specs are:

AMD Athlon II AM3 x2 260 processor
Gigabyte AMD GA-78LMT-S2P motherboard
500gb Seagate SATA HDD
2gb APACER DDR3 RAM + 4gb Corsair DDR3 RAM
NVIDIA GTS220 1gb GDDR3

Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!

I suspected that my new RAM is the problem but currently it has passed 8 out of the 9 memtest86 test. Could it be the OS?

Additional info: *** STOP : 0x00000050 error

updates: tested using single both RAM separately on different slot. BSOD on both RAM.

Sorry to say, but apparently the reason behind all your crashes is ESET.

I would suggest you to uninstall ESET and use Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows.

Let us know the results.

Thanks for the reply. These BSODs will occur after a few minutes after logging on. I'll try uninstalling ESET and let you know asap!

Updates:
After I've uninstalled the Nvidia drivers, decided to install older drivers in safe mode. But couldn't get into safemode because of another 0x00000050 BSOD. Restarted again and another BSOD. Boot up normally again and until the time of posting, I've got no BSOD but noticed that my USB wireless adapter is not working. I'm currently backing up my files as I decided to reformat and do a clean windows installation. Hopefully it will work. I will update soon.

Hi, I've just finished installing Windows, old Nvidia drivers(301.42), every drivers from the mobo CD and AVG Antivirus Free 2013. Currently, my machine has no problems. But I need to be sure if re-formatting my hdd has solved my problems. I'll get back to you in a few days(hopefully). Thanks!

Why AVG, Why not Microsoft Security Essentials?

Before blaming the RAM, Change the antivirus, Update the drivers you installed from the CD using DriverMax, and then see if it crashes again or not.

If it crashes again, we will go for RAM tests, but not just now.

Okay, will try MSE later. But I've tested my RAM before. I'm using one 2gb RAM and another 4gb RAM, I've ran memtest on both of the RAMs together and separately on different slots and they passed the test. Have you checked the latest dmp file that I've attached?

But a Stop 50 may cause by some other reasons, among those one is Antivirus program. No Device drifers are failing as per the stack trace. So I told to to skip to the safest one antivirus.

Let us know how it is working after the shift of antivirus.

If changing the antivirus makes the situation stable, you may not go for memtest right now. But if it crashes again, you will need to run it.
