antec ea-650w p/s
palit sonic 9600gt (2 years old)
asus 2014 lit dvdrw
coolermaster centurion case

History- 3 weeks ago had win xp home and installed a evga gtx560ti FPB(850mhz)
desktop ok ,but games or testing, bsods reformatted fresh install twice did not help.
3 days ago upgraded to win7 64bit (purely to rec extra memory)home premium retail.TDR's lockups, unable to play any games, drivers 266 to 290 tried, that bad
put 9600gt back and used latest 290.53 drivers. No TDR's cod 1 plays ok but call
of duty modern warfare bsods within 30mins, also cannot perform prime95 test immediate bsod-did the same with the gtx.View attachment 193076

Nope, attachments aren't correct - some things are missing (I use the perfmon report, the systeminfo.txt report, the MSINFO32.nfo report, and any memory dump files that are available). Please try again, and zip up the entire contents into 1 zip file to upload.

That being said, it's significant that you can't run Prime95. Please start out with the first 3 free diagnostics at this link (memory, hard drive, and antimalware): Hardware Diags
I'm particularly concerned about your memory, so the memory test is (IMO) the most important test to run.

Post back with the results and we'll move on from there.

Okay ahhh a bit embarrassing but i don't know how to zip dump files i have tried
using debugger to educate myself and access denied to open dump in debugger.
I dragged a dump file to the desktop but looks good there )):D but can't zip it,
frustrating.. deleted prime95 and downloaded again making sure it was the correct version for win7 x64. tried small fft test, bsod as it is starting.

Somehow i managed debugger to open a minidump and i tried to use the
!analyze -v function which said incorrect symbols but down the bottom it mentioned

DEBUG_FLR_IMAGE_TIMESTAMP: 0
BUGCHECK_STR: 0X124_AuthenticAMD
CUSTOMER_CRASH_COUNT: 1

Forgot to mention i tried cpu tests as advised, tried two:-
cpufreebenchmark2-pass
intelburntest- after maybe 1 min bsod guess thats a fail?.
I have temp monitoring fan control meter on pc set fans to high so
pc temps were not high at bsod about 32c (42c).
unlocked x2 to x4 means onboard sensors will not register temps, hence
large aftermarket tuniq tower 120 extreme cpu cooler and fan controller
with temp gauge.:)

Try more CPU tests

Zipping goes like this:
Drag all Minidumps to your Desktop
Left click on 1st one
Hold down the "Ctrl" key and left click on the rest (individually)
Right click on the highlighted icons and click on "Send to"
Select "Compressed (zipped) folder"
Then follow the prompts to save it on your Desktop

You can do a bit more with memory dumps, but with the STOP 0x124 error that you show - there's just not much info that we can wring from it. We can get driver info, which is the biggest help.
Here's a step-by-step guide. It looks intimidating, but just go through it step by step and it'll work for you: http://www.carrona.org/dbgrpt.html

Also, please do this for the MSINFO32 report:
- Go to Start and type in "msinfo32" and press Enter
- When the utility opens, save a copy of it as an .nfo file, and another copy as a .txt file
- Zip them up and upload it with your next post.

Good luck!

Hello usasma i hope it was a good monday for you, is there a way of looking at kernel dumps or do they only give as much information as the minidump, i was
wondering because i tried another prime95 test and got a bsod which showed up in event screen- as event 41 but in minidumps its not shown i thought every shutdown would cause another minidump? a bit confused.i am going to rma the gtx560ti but i have run prime95 on xp and it was ok until installing the gtx to xp and problems, upgrade to win7 and same problems as xp + TDR's which i had never
experienced, remove the gtx re-install 9600gt use same drivers and everything appears to work fine except stress testing bsods the pc.
thanks bedtime here
bye.

Memory dumps look to be STOP 0x124 from the MSINFO32 report
Kernel dumps give more info than minidumps, but I don't go that far into the file to need them.
I do still need the memory dumps zipped up and uploaded so that I can check the drivers.

From what I saw in MSINFO32, it's most likely EVGA Precision that's causing the memory dumps. Please uninstall that program to see if it helps with the BSOD's.

Hello usasma, i think i have worked out the problem, you were correct first off thinking it may be hardware related.
i removed evga program as suggested and ran prime95 and it was a bsod still, but something struck me about the test so after rebooting i opened up prime95 again
and what it was, well mmmmmmmm:( only three threads showing not four as there
should be, so i did a restart and went into bios and locked to 2 cores.
And prime95 ran fine. I ran 1hr 4 complete series and all passes, then ran intelburn (bsod immediately before) and ran standard and high tests fine.
Originally the cpu test (cant remember the name) was a pass, and with the gtx560ti i had locked back to two cores and problems had remained the same.
So i appologise:o for wasting your time and thank you as well, haha the finding of
dump files and zipping, pasting had me move out of my comfort zone and i'm sure
learnt more about my new windows7 in a week than i would in a year .
You have me curious usasma, but i have always wondered whats over the next hill
anyway.
You are a good person usasma to help like this.
As my wife likes to say to me sometimes- "you stupid, stupid man" with a smile.:D
cya.

Are we married to the same woman? My wife says the exact same thing! :0)

I'm glad that you were able to figure it out. It's remarkable how many of these situations are solved by the user after coming here! We just start suggesting things, and that starts your mind working - and you find an answer!

You didn't waste my time - I'm here to help, and the only thing that counts is that you get your system fixed.
Good luck to you (and say hello to my wife for me! :0)
