Okay, your nVidia graphics card driver seems to be the most updated version:

The first parameter or argument has the value of 0x0, which is a Machine Check Exception, which means the CPU has detected a hardware problem and the address points to a processor error because the CPU has found one, so it could be a different form of hardware which is causing the issue.

The nVidia graphics driver was blamed, therefore the first step would be to complete a graphics card stress test.
   Warning
Read all the steps within the hardware test tutorials very carefully, as stress tests is designed run components to their maximum capacity, in order to point out failing or faulty hardware components

Use the following program to monitor your hardware temperatures during the stress test:
Have you installed the correct Windows 8 graphics driver?

What are these programs?

Code:
Start Menu\Programs\迅雷软件

Thank you for the help BlueRobot..for the video card stress test, i need to do the burn in test and wait until it stops? not sure how it works..can you explain? For alienware BIOS I think it is the latest version? A11? because I cant find any version later than this for my pc. I have set optimal defaults for my CPU. didnt even know it was overclocking and I didnt set it that way...have also done a preboot diagnostic test and found a faulty ram which failed the memory integrity test but still seeing this 0x124 error. so should not be the cause of the blue screen...anything else I missed out other than the graphic card stress test?

For the graphics card test, you will need to keep a eye on the temperatures, immediately stop the test when it reaches 80*C, and look for any screen distortions or artifacts.

Have you removed the faulty RAM stick?

I've run the burn in test and no screen distortions. I ran it up till 90 degrees  but didnt have any BSODs. yeah, ive removed the faulty RAM already but still having BSODs..now even when im not playing games the error 0x124 is coming out...was converting some file format from mkv to dvd player VOB format..and multitasking. I ran driver verifier previously and it caused the same 0x124 BSODs..could it be a driver issue or I'm suspecting its the CPU now..since memory and GPU seems ok...should I use CPU-Z and Intel burn test to check my CPU? How do I determine if its the CPU fault? Thanks a bunch guys...im hoping after a few more tests I can really find out what is the problem with my comp :)

Run the Memtest for the remaining RAM sticks just to make sure that the RAM isn't the issue, failing RAM can cause many software problems too, which may be a reason for the Stop 0x124's from Driver Verifier.

Hi BlueRobot, I've done the memory test on the remaining 2 RAM sticks but no issues. Have not tried on the supposedly faulty one though. I've noticed that my CPU temperature is exceeding the maximum allowable temperature (T case specification) for my processor i7-960 which is 67.9degrees. At idle stage it is having an average of 60 degrees and when I play games, it will increase until nearly 80 degrees. Is this normal? How can I force it to run under the maximum allowable temperature? Could this be the one causing my BSODs?

It seems you have a overheating issue, which can contribute to a Stop 0x124, please check inside the case for any accumulation of dust, check any the fans and heatsinks. Ensure all the fans are working adequately.
