Hiya
My computer has started blue screening randomly.
It happens occasionally while playing league of legends and will always crash within about the first few min of playing guild wars 2.
I think it might be a faulty motherboard. Almost a year ago my computer was blue screening and i sent the motherboard in, got it back and the blue screening stopped....started again a few months ago.
I have swapped out RAM, tried different RAM slots
When i swapped out my video card for a much lower grade GeForce9500gt, i did not crash in guild wars.

I am not sure if its the motherboard or the graphics card. :( The zip file from SF should be attached.

Lauren

Never seen such a thing earlier, unfortunately.

But, it results in a windows 7's crash dump.

Something is going wrong here.

Install Service pack 1.
Code:
Version 6.1.7600 Build[COLOR=Red] 7600[/COLOR]
Learn how to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1)
Service Pack Center - Microsoft Windows

Scan the system for possible virus infection.

Run SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

If the crashes continue to occur, enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

   Information
Why Driver Verifier:
It puts a stress on the drivers, ans so it makes the unstable drivers crash. Hopefully the driver that crashes is recorded in the memory dump.

How Can we know that DV is enabled:
It will make the system bit of slow, laggy.

   Warning
Before enabling DV, make it sure that you have earlier System restore points made in your computer. You can check it easily by using CCleaner looking at Tools > System Restore.

If there is no points, make a System Restore Point manually before enabling DV.

   Tip

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

Hi. I doubt this is a hard drive issue. My computer was crashing in Nov before I got a brand new HDD in Dec. (thought the HDD was original issue). Fresh install of windows.

1) I have updated my windows 7 install with service pack 1.
2) turned on driver verifier for all non Microsoft drivers.
3) loaded up Guild Wars 2
4) seemed to stay up longer then expected without crashing so I left it on and went to bed
5) when I woke up I saw the "windows has recovered from an error" popup
6) turned off driver verifier
7) rebooted and ran SFC

thank you :)

APC_INDEX_MISMATCH (1)
This is a kernel internal error. The most common reason to see this
bugcheck is when a filesystem or a driver has a mismatched number of
calls to disable and re-enable APCs. The key data item is the
Thread->CombinedApcDisable field. This consists of two separate 16-bit
fields, the SpecialApcDisable and the KernelApcDisable. A negative value
of either indicates that a driver has disabled special or normal APCs
(respectively) without re-enabling them; a positive value indicates that
a driver has enabled special or normal APCs (respectively) too many times.
Arguments:
Arg1: 00000000757c15da, Address of system call function or worker routine
Arg2: 0000000000000000, Thread->ApcStateIndex
Arg3: 000000000000b96b, (Thread->SpecialApcDisable << 16) | Thread->KernelApcDisable
Arg4: fffff88006cb2ca0, Call type (0 - system call, 1 - worker routine)
But even Driver Verifier cannot detect what is the failing driver.

Scan the system for possible virus infection.

Irrespective of the scan's result, do a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html
