Hi all, so i got me a new HDD and memory. Naturally I put up the new system and installed a fresh copy of win7x64.

The system is a week or so old, and i'm getting blue screens doing random stuff like browsing the internet and most recently pausing a 1080p movie (when i came back from the toilette, the bluescreen was on :) )

So yeah, i put all the necessary files in the attachment and would kindly ask u guys to help me sort this out. I am thinking about sending the memory back to the vendor, but would prefer this to be simply a driver problem or something.

Welcome aboard.

Your crash dumps are not showing any finite probable cause. In such a situation, it is better to enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.

Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

OK i didnt have any BSOD in the past 24 hrs... i did have some weird short freezes tho and delayed reactions, so something cleary isnt right with the system.

should i just keep on running the verifier until i get a bsod? or whats the next step?

All the freezes are due to verifier.

This made us confirmed that any driver is not causing the crashes. Now you disable driver verifier, and run your computer normally. If there are further crashes, we will go to the next step :)

So, I didn't have any trouble for a solid month or so, but all of a sudden I got 3 BSODs in a matter of a couple of days.

You need to upgrade the network driver:

Download the network card driver from manufactuer's website.
Then reinstall the driver:

  1. Click the Start Button, type "devmgmt.msc" (without quotation marks) in the Start Menu Search box and press Enter.
  2. Double click to expand "Network adaptors".
  3. Right click your network card and click Uninstall.
  4. Check "Delete driver software for this device" check box, click OK.
  5. Restart the computer

If windows does not auto configure the appropriate drivers at startup, install the downloaded one manually.

I just had another BSOD crash. I had firefox running with a few tabs and a pdf file and microsoft word. For several hours. i was watching a youtube video and everything was fine... then i turned on my smartphone which was already connected to my pc and at the same time i turned on a download programe based on java on my pc.

So basically the very moment i turned on my phone, the bluescreen came, but there is a chance, that it was caused by the download programm which was started a few seconds before.

dmp file at the attachement.

thanks for help :geek:

In theory it should handle it. Firefox and Word are fairly big resource hogs though.
What do you have in Startup? All that is necessary really is your security program.

Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

upload your MSINFO32.nfo file.

  1. Click on the start button
  2. Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
  3. File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
  4. Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
  5. Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.
