BSOD: Playing Online Game (Elsword)

I've been receiving more freezes and blue screens again. I have a feeling it could be a hardware issue because I believe something is in my fan due to the noises I hear coming from my laptop. But just to be sure I'm posting here. I've updated the info from last week.

I've been experiencing some more issues again as well and have updated the rar again. I've been bumping this thread for awhile with no assistance in sight. Any help with my issue would be greatly appreciated.

How many sticks of RAM do you have? Can you run memtest?

Look for chipset/motherboard/vga/network drivers from: Intel® Driver Update Utility (needs Java to run)

Free up the start-up, nothing except the antivirus is usually needed.
Run the System File Checker that scans the of all protected Windows 7 system files and replaces incorrect corrupted, changed/modified, or damaged versions with the correct versions if possible:

I ran system file checker and no issues were found. I also disabled unnecessary programs on start-up and my computer still froze. I'm not sure how to run memtest so any pointers on that would be appreciated.

The strange thing is my computer only freezes when I play this specific game. When it does freeze I am forced to turn it off with the power button. When I turn it back on, it'll shut itself off, then it turns on successfully. When I put in my password for my user, I also get the glitch effect on my screen and it freezes forcing me to shut it off through the use of the power button. I'm not getting any blue screens and it's mainly my computer freezing that is the issue.

Clean install as in reinstalling windows 7 from scratch. From the snip I see that the motherboard temperatures are a lil' high.

Do you ever turn off the computer? and.. How old are you?

I feel offended by such a statement. I'm 17 years old. I don't use the computer all day and turn it off if I'm done using it. Considering the fact that it is a laptop and kind of hot in my room could add to the temperatures being a bit high. I've never re-installed Windows before seeing as I had no reason to. As I stated before in my posts I hear a strange sound coming out of my laptop sometimes if I move it, so the fan could possibly be damaged but I would need to get my laptop checked out to confirm this.

I would also like to point out that I'm not too familiar with computers and such, so you'll have to excuse me for being unknowing on certain things.

I apologize if I've said anything that makes you feel offended, I didn't mean to. I am asking different questions so I can help you better.

Do you have a cooler for your laptop?

Can you run memtest?

I'm not sure how to run memtest so any pointers on that would be appreciated.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.html

As you only have problems with that particular game, have you tried uninstalling an reinstalling it?

You might also consider a system restore, restoring to a date prior to your problem: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/700-system-restore.html

A hard drive check may be in order as well: WD Support / Downloads / SATA & SAS / WD VelociRaptor

I'd do the memtest first...

cdeas15 please keep in mind, if you are playing this game that causes your problems from a on line site your problem will keep coming back. Every time you go to that site you will get infected again. Once your computer is clean DON'T go back to that site.

Hmmm, your MSinfor shows AVG is running. See post #5 where you were asked to replace AVG with MSE.

I also find a number of running tasks that I'm not familiar
egisupdater
pmmupdater
gregsvc
hamachi-2
ischedulesvc

and a curiosity: most of the running or loaded programs are 32bit.

There are also a few Acer apps running/loaded that probably aren't required - see cleaning up OEM bloat
edit: while I was typing and looking for the tutorial, Gregrocker (who most likely has it handy) beat me to the punch - the idea is the same, a clean machine performs better.

Clean up the unneeded (even if you want it) and see how your machine operates.

...and it's Acer Registration - the most annoying of all!
I disown you gregsvc, and commit yet again to smite all bloatware from yonder PC's. :busted:

The game I'm playing is one that is downloaded, not on a website so I'm sure that is not an issue. I wasn't very specific when I just called it an online game, so I apologize for not being clear. I'm also pretty sure I removed AVG and that's just their link scanner, but I guess I'll just get rid of that too.

To everyone else, I'll be sure to try out all of the ideas you have given me and post back the results. Hopefully we can solve this issue once again.

I'm having issues with my laptop freezing while playing this game again. As I explained before when the game freezes my screen glitches up a bit and Windows is entirely unresponsive, and it just emits a high pitched repeating noise. When this happens I have to do a forced shut down. The strange thing is sometimes it will freeze when I play for a couple of minutes, a couple of hours, or sometimes it won't freeze at all (although this is rare now).

EDIT: I'm running memtest at the moment and will post back the results when its finished.
