BSOD (playing Runescape) and Win 10 problems

About 20 seconds after logging in I start getting some kind of screen tearing and colourful vertical bars which end up in a BSOD a couple of seconds later.

NOT SURE IF THIS HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT, BUT THE PROBLEM STARTED TODAY:
!!!
Today I tried upgrading to Windows 10 (have tried before and it failed) and got the following error: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (igdkmd64.sys). After this tried to return my computer to Windows 7 and seemingly it worked. However I couldn't run the graphics card driver I downloaded earlier (for Win 7 64bit), because it said I didn't have the right version of Windows.
!!!

I tried downloading the new graphics card drivers again and this time I could run the exe, but this didn't fix the problem.

Please uninstall ASRock software while troubleshooting.

Daemon tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause for BSOD's.
Please remove Daemon Tools and run the SPTD pass through remover.

  1. Uninstall Daemon Tools
  2. Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
    • Double click the executable to open it
    • Click on the button shown below
383277d1457686663-bsod-bitdefender-antivirus-2016-desktop-pc-ss-2015-08-30-10.29.33-.png

If the button is grayed out, like in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can close the window.

 RAM TEST

arrow.png
Run MemTest86+ to analyse your RAM. MemTest86+ - Test RAM - Windows 7 Forums

   Note
picture.php

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 complete passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

Make a photo of the result and post it.

Addition:
If errors show up you can stop the test, remove all sticks but 1 and test this single stick in each slot for 8 passes or until errors show, switch sticks and repeat.
If errors show up and you see them a lot later, no problem, the errors don't affect the test.

Please uninstall everything of AMD using Display Driver Uninstaller and install new drivers from AMD. Be sure to install as less as possible software using custom/advanced options, you can use this tutorial to do so :ar: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorial...install-without-catalyst-install-manager.html

I know it's not 8 passes, but it took a long time and I really don't think RAM is at fault here.
I also succeeded in installing the drivers, will test the results now.

This did not fix the problem.
Edit: Perhaps the fact that I have tried to ugprade to Windows 10 before aswell and it has ended up in errors which meant the computer restored Windows 7 again has caused problems.

That the Windows 10 upgrade failed means we need to first get your system stable before you attempt it again, or if it is a drivers fault you could perform a clean install of Windows 10 immediately with your key.

I know it's not 8 passes, but it took a long time and I really don't think RAM is at fault here.
It does not matter if you don't think the memory is at fault, the memory needs to be tested properly so we can rule it out.
8 passes on 8GB takes usually about 8-10h, but could take some more time.

Is there a way to create a backup with my files and everything now, then install a clean copy of Windows 10, and then use the previous backup to restore my stuff?

Stuff as programs are better to be not backed up, because then you need to backup the system as when backing up programs you need to add the registry and then you need to take the Windows installation too because else it could go wrong.

Everything else can be backed up manually on a USB drive or external HDD.

Thanks for everything so far, but I assume you would rather send me somewhere else with the upgrading to Windows 10 problem as you might not be as knowledgeable of it as you are of BSOD errors. After the update has failed it says Windows 10 couldn't be installed and the error code is C1900101-40017. If you have any idea where I should go know I'm looking for recommendations.

We could deal with it here, I would normally send someone with Windows 10 issues to the Windows 10 Forums, but I'm not planning on doing that just yet.
Please perform below tests, that Windows 10 upgrade has failed means we need to check your system on a few things.
Please read the tutorials carefully, they answer almost all questions that most people have :)

Diagnostic test

 GPU TEST

arrow.png
Run Furmark to test your GPU. Furmark tutorial

   Note
Run Furmark for around 30 minutes

   Warning
Your GPU temperatures will rise quickly while Furmark is running. Keep a keen eye on them and abort the test if temperatures rise too high

Make a photo of the result and post it.

Diagnostics Test

 HDD TEST

Run SeaTools to check the integrity of your HDD. SeaTools for DOS and Windows - How to Use - Windows 7 Help Forums
Run the long test.
   Note
Do not run SeaTools on an SSD as the results will be invalid.

Make a photo of the result and post it.

Run chkdsk
Disk Check - Windows 7 Help Forums
Use option TWO with parameter /r
Upload the chkdsk log :ar: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/96938-check-disk-chkdsk-read-event-viewer-log.html

arrow.png
Run HDTune to
  • scan for errors, no quick scan but full scan
  • check the health,
  • benchmark.
It may take some time, but please take the time you need to perform it properly.
When above is done please make screenshots of the following
  • the error scan,
  • the health,
  • the benchmark incl. following
    • transfer rate,
    • access time,
    • burst rate,
    • cpu usage.

Run Prime95 to stress test your CPU. Prime95 - Stress Test Your CPU - Windows 7 Forums

   Warning
Your CPU temperatures will rise quickly while under this stress test. Keep a keen eye on them and abort the test if overheating occurs.

Make a photo of the result and post it.

Diagnostics Test

 System File Check

Please try following:
  • Open an admin command prompt
  • Copy/paste "sfc /scannow" (without quotes) and press enter
  • When it is finished reboot your system
  • Open again an admin command prompt
  • Enter sfc/scannow again
If sfc/scannow says "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them" after the second SFC, please upload the cbs.log file located at {windows partition}\Windows\Logs\CBS\, if the file is too large try a 3rd party uploader like dropbox, onedrive, google drive, mediafire etc.
System File Check(SFC a.k.a. Windows Resource Protection) needs to have your system rebooted in order for sfc to try to fix the problems that it finds.

Make a photo of the result and post it.

Just a small update, left RuneScape running for maybe 15 minutes while I went away and I came back to see this, this stayed up for atleast 5 minutes without going to BSOD or shutting down, so I shut it down myself.

This is what happened a bit ago when playing, in this order
Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet - After this stayed on my screen (without going to BSOD) I had to force shut down my computer
Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet
Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet - This is what happened after the previous picture, if u look closely u can see faint vertical lines (were more visible, but taking a picture of it ruins it), right now I'm posting while in safe mode as I can't get past that screen (at least in a short time)

As an answer to your question, I guess they are both enabled, but I don't have much use for my intergrated GPU I suppose.
