BSOD (playing Runescape) and Win 10 problems

I was finally able to leave Safe Mode and boot normally by uninstalling the drivers of my HD 7870.

This happens when I try to install dGPU drivers and reboot into normal mode (tried the latest drivers and the one before that), basically super laggy and nothing really opens and everything stays partially on the screen etc.

Does this also happen when the GPU is reseated and/or seated in a different slot?

No change, reckon it's my GPU's hardware problem then? Nevertheless I tried to upgrade to Win10 while my dGPU was unplugged and it just shut down and failed unlike before because there was no restoring previous Windows screens etc.

I do not think it is the GPU itself causing the problem, because when you remove it you still have graphical problems with the iGPU. Of course you could check if the dGPU is causing problems by testing it on another system.

Do you know someone who has a motherboard with a 1155 socket and a DDR3 1600MHz RAM frequency so you could test the CPU with iGPU on another system?

I think that there is a problem with your motherboard, but I'm not sure exactly where it may be. Currently I would like to know for sure if the iGPU & dGPU truly are causing problems by testing them on a different system, if not then I would think it is safe to say the motherboard is causing problems.

I'll try to update my Windows again by following every tip while only using my iGPU, because it seems like the only problem it has so far, I also think I might have ruined my onboard audio somehow while changing dGPU slots so I guess I need to buy an audio card.

I downloaded the Windows 10 ISO and tomorrow I'll go buy a DVD as I don't have a single empty one right now onto which I could burn it, I also can't use my computer unless I unplug my GPU as otherwise it will automatically install drivers (even if it requires a restart, before doing the restart I still can't do everything I would like due to different errors), my on-board audio seems ruined so I think I'll buy an audio card aswell, in a couple of days I'd like to see if I can upgrade to Win10 and if there are any problems with my iGPU, if not I can't help but think it is my dGPU-s fault. If u think otherwise about something let me know, thanks.

Edit: My screen just froze totally while playing on iGPU

Well, for the upgrade I'm not sure how much time is left but when the 29th is over you cannot use the free upgrade offer anymore.

Well I have the ISO file so I should be fine, nevertheless the upgrade is not that important, I'm thinking of taking my computer for a checkup so they can actuwlly test the parts.

In the store I could test another card and it worked with its drivers installed, and he also suspected the GPU after that, but now my computer froze again randomly after an hour of use (with the iGPU).

Edit: I'm thinking of doing a clean Win7 install and then maybe a clean Win 10 install.
Edit2: Screen froze once after an hour of use, now after 3 hours of use, nothing like has happened before with my dGPU

The card with its respectable drivers gives the same problems on a clean install of Windows 10 install aswell. Will test if the iGPU problems still exist too.

Edit: Computer still freezes, I'm out of ideas really.

Do you think these are separate problems, my GPU being pretty much broken and my CPU also causing problems?

Thats what I'm trying to find out with you, but I can't know for certain until it is tested :)

It could be that what I said earlier, the motherboard may be the cause, may well be the opposite. It could be that your CPU & GPU are causing the problems.

I read somewhere, that Speccy might cause the freezing, I'll try again by not using the dGPU, but I'm fairly sure the GPU is atleast at fault, and something else might be aswell.

Edit: The problems exist after uninstalling Speccy, just an fyi I fully cleaned my dGPU previously and those problems still existed.

Speccy sometimes causes freezes because of a certain temporary driver that sometimes causes problems, the same goes for a few similar programs that also use this driver.

Do the problems then exist after uninstalling Speccy, so I should do a clean reinstall and not install Speccy that time?

A better way, to keep your stuff, after uninstalling Speccy is by cleaning the temp folders.
There are 2 temp folder, 1 for the user & 1 for the system.
What you could do is a few things to accomplish it,
- You could run Ccleaner to cleanup the temp folders,
- You could run disk cleanup to cleanup the temp folders,
- You could go to the folders manually and delete as many files as possible by yourself.
