Hello all,

I'm encountering BSOD playing SWTOR for a few days. This started to happen after update of my Graphic Driver (I installed the latest release, AMD crymson 15.11). The game worked fine before this install and then, system started BSOD while playing, every crash mentionned atikmpag.sys file.

I uninstalled the 15.11 driver, rebooted my PC, downloaded on AMD web site another driver more compatible with my GC (AMD 15.7.1 Driver), installed this new driver => still crash

I uninstalled the 15.7.1 driver, verified that all files where effectively deleted (and so atikmpag.sys was), rebooted the computer, reinstalled the 15.7.1 driver => still crash

I then uninstalled the game, supressing all config files for it, and reinstalled it with the latest install program => still crash, and happen closer in time.

Before reinstalling the game, crashes occurs about 30-50min playing, now it's about 5-6mins.

I verified physically my machine, no noticable dust, vents running good, my GC was lightly OC since now and all worked fine with the game.

Dump of my computer are with this thread.

Thanks for your help!

Update of the topic.

It seems that catalyst driver 15.11 altered the GC fan functionnality. I forced OC on the GC with GC fan manually set to 72%, game ran fine.

So, I de-reinstalled another time the Catalyst 15.7 driver, using in time the AMD Cleanup Utility before reinstall (wich use removed some files, non-deleted with the Catalyst deinstall self-process), and then all worked fine once again, without using OC at all.

So, i would recommend users not to install the last AMD catalyst driver if they have AMD HD 6800 series GC (or equivalent), but rather check the last available driver really compatible.

Subject closed.
