So I purchased new RAM with the exact same specs (DDR3 1600Mhz 9-9-9-24 1.5v) all 4 GB sticks. The ram I had in slots A1 and A2 worked fine and I had no issues. With the new ram in slots B1 and B2 the computer blue screens every couple of hours. I ran memtest86+ for 10 passes and there were no errors. I had another thread posted but I just did not want it to get buried because I forgot to attach my zip file. Hopefully you guys can help me diagnose what exactly is going on with my machine.

Avast is causing issues there.

Description here: Driver Reference Table - aswSnx.SYS

Uninstall Avast using Avast Uninstall Utility. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
Download, install and update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

The display driver is failing, too.

And the latest version causes issues sometimes. Install the 314.22 WHQL only.

  • Uninstall All nvidia items in Control Panel > Programs and features
    • 3D Vision Control Driver
    • 3D Vision Driver
    • Graphics Driver
    • HD Audio Driver
    • PhysX
    • nvidia Update
(Are you using nvidia chipset drivers? If so, dont uninstall anything other than those are listed).
  • Now follow Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling
  • Boot normally now. Go to Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers, Download 314.22 WHQL. While installing, Select Custom (Advanced) install. In the next page, follow this settings:

During uninstall and reinstall, accept all the suggested Restarts.

Let us know the results.

BTW, make it sure that the new RAM are of the same specification of the old ones. Otherwise memtest may not catch errors, but issues will be there.

All 4 sticks of ram are the same brand (Gskill) timing (9-9-9-34) 1.5V and DDR3 1600MHz. Would anything else make a difference? And thanks for the response I will try all of that once I get home and am at the computer!

It could be a faulty dram slot and not the memory itself. Try the older sticks on the B1/2 slots :). Also memtest DOESN'T detect problems caused by bad timings (settings in bios) which is very annoying because you need to work in OS environment to be sure the memory is stable.

320.18 is actually even more buggy than 320.49 :(
Still, as you have already installed it, let us see how it goes. If the problems continue to occur, We have to wait for another driver update from nvidia I guess.

This crash dump dose not yield a finite possible cause, but indicates some sort of storage malfunctioning, very vaguely.

Make it sure that your Samsung 840 Series SSD is running with the latest firmware. Samsung SSD | Samsung Semiconductor Global Website

Get rid of intel rapid storage. First uninstall it from Control Panel > Programs and Features. Then Uninstall the driver from device manager.

  1. Right click on "my computer" icon and click "manage" on the context menu.
  2. It will open the "computer management" window.
  3. Select "Device Manager" in the left pane, It will list all the existing devices up.
  4. Expand "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers" by clicking on the triangle in front of it.
  5. Select one Intel device item under it, right click, uninstall.
  6. Continue the process for all Intel items under "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers"
  7. Now restart the computer. At restart, windows will auto configure the appropriate native system driver.
Let us know the results.

We need to check what may happen without the presence of Intel storage drivers.

If you are feeling uneasy to do it, do two more things. First create a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/697-system-restore-point-create.html manually, and then create a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2083-system-repair-disc-create.html . Now uninstall it.

If things go bad, you will be able to restore to that point back, anytime.
