Solved BSOD possibly viewing videos, error 0x000000d1

Hi there,

I have had a couple of BSODs (both 0x000000d1) over the past month that seem to occur when viewing videos (this time at least there were two Youtube videos on different tabs of Chrome - last time I seem to recall it was a similar scenario).

I run a dual monitor setup, using the onboard (Intel HD Graphics 4000) DVI for one and an NVIDIA GeForce GT 610 DVI for the other. I could look at switching to just the GEFORCE, but would need to get an HDMI to DVI or VGA to DVI adaptor.

Anyway, that's all the info I've got. I've attached the diag files - please let me know if you need anything else.

Your Norton Internet Security seems to be causing a few problems, please remove the program with the Norton Removal Tool, and then install and run full scans with these proven alternatives which work best with Windows 7, due to compatibility with the operating system and lightweight nature on system resources.

Install and perform full scans with:

• Microsoft Security Essentials | Protect against viruses, spyware, and other malware

Hi

All the BSOD points to pssdklbf.sys.. which is a packet sniffer SDK used by tbbmeter in your case (Total Broadband meter)

As far as i can tell you are using version 0.9.9.4 but as per the site the latest is 0.9.8.4... Either use this version or remove it completely and use other Bandwidth meters.

Thanks so much for the super quick reply - I really appreciate it.

The packet sniffer program is thinkbroadband's meter. I'll quite happily uninstall that - I had it running for a couple of specific reasons a few months back, but I don't need it now. Identifying that put me onto this thread which seems like it has caused BSODs for others.

In terms of Norton - I may not have a choice of uninstalling it at the mo, as I'd need to talk to my IT dept. Politics and all that, but I understand that for BSOD-free life and better BSOD analysis it should be replaced with an alternative.
