BSOD - Possibly when downloading Steam Games

Hi all,

First time poster, so sorry if i've done anything wrong please advise me and i'll make any required edits.

I've gotten a couple of BSOD's today, just when downloading a particularly big steam game. I've been skyping, online gaming fine etc. but it's happened twice now just downloading this game (Witcher 2, if you're interested!)

I've followed the instructions to attach the BSOD log files. I'd really appreciate any advice you could give.

Unfortunately, error code 0x124 usually means there's faulty hardware, and the error message supports that:

WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR (124)

I'll do some more research, but for now that's my best guess.

More bad news...

From your system information, you have an Intel i5-2500K CPU, a dual-core processor.

However, from CPU dump logging, I've seen that only one core is logged:

I could be wrong, but I fear your second core in your CPU is broken. Anyone else, please correct me if I'm wrong.

This is also supported by another error message I found:

CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT (101)

What this means is that the cores and threads are not cooperating with each other.

But that's just what I've concluded. If anyone else has a different opinion, please feel free to chime in.

In other words, your CPU is dying.
