If you don't want to wipe your hard drive, I would strongly advice to be careful with anything you do on your system, not only online but also offline. Since you're probably not aware of what the previous owner did, there is a chance that something else nasty spies on you. Not trying to be paranoia, but I've seen this happen too many times.

- scan for errors, no quick scan but full scan
- run a benchmark.
When above is done please make screenshots of the following
- the health,
- the error scan,
- the benchmark incl. following
- transfer rate,
- access time,
- burst rate,
- cpu usage.
Run the long test.
Note
Do not run SeaTools on an SSD as the results will be invalid.
