I just did a fresh install of windows hoping itll stop my bsods. But it didnt, i've gotten 2 bsods since I did the fresh install of windows.

Anyways today I was playing league of legends and I got a random BSOD (like always) and before the BSOD a screen popped up for about 1 second and said hardware malfunction, and then it went to the BSOD screen, i couldn't read what all it said because it wasn't up long. Anyways i'm thinking its a hardware issue since I just did a fresh install of windows.

Any help with be greatly appreciated!

Hello Ryan mate first up please see this and update the specs as it is very hard to diagnose anything without knowing what one is dealing with
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/180324-system-info-see-your-system-specs.html

Plus there are no dump files in that link you have so please see these and try again

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/174459-dump-files-configure-windows-create-bsod.html

&
http://www.sevenforums.com/bsod-help-support/96879-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html

I do see some problem devices in the msinfo file though - open it up go to components and then problem devices to see what the are..

Thanks for the reply.

Here are my specs (this is the computer I bought: iBUYPOWER Gamer Supreme TG978SLC Gaming PC - 3rd generation Intel Core i7-3770K 3.5GHz, 16GB DDR3, 1TB HDD, DVDRW, Dual AMD Radeon HD 7850, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, Liquid Cooling at TigerDirect.com )

I changed the dump file to the small memory dump, is that what you wanted? And does that mean I have to wait for it to BSOD again to get the file?

I went to the msinfo, and I went to the problem devices and it says:
PCI Simple Communications Controller - The drivers for this device are not installed
Not available (PNP_Device_ID: IUSB3/Root_hub30/4&24618A5B&0) - The drivers are not installed
PCE Serial Port - The drivers for this device are not installed.

Thanks again for the help, im not very tech savvy hah

Sorry late reply Ryan now mate there are no BSOD dump files so I cannot analyze those.

However there are problem devise in the msinfo log and without going and Goolging those I would guess they are drivers for the USB and other ports. I will look later as I haven't been feeling that good and need a bit of rest but I will try. See pic for those devices.

Ryan there is a ref to the ntoskrnl.exe as in the readout here and it can be anything form software or hard ware. It is a very common issue that I don't like to see because it usually means a lot of digging around to find the problem.

So there is no other way than start with the basics and so I would suggest you try these

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/433-disk-check.html< if necessary include the /f and /r in the command line as per Option2 (insafe mode is a wise way to go)

then these

http://www.superantispyware.com/

https://www.malwarebytes.org/lp/sem/5/?gclid=CJTmq6iGpscCFYqCvQodbfMN1A(free version and untick the trial option when it comes up

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/

ADW download from bleeping computerdelete any rubbish found with the malware scans

(Anyone running Kasperskyinternet security will find it rants about ADW - ignore it or disable Kasperskywhile running ADW)

Now I did say last post that it could be software and that doesn't mean it is and by doing the basic stuff first is just a matter of elimination because the dump fault is ambiguous to say the least.

Now I know you have done a fresh install but I would still run those scans in case the install did not go a well as it may appear to have done. If the results come back ok then we can strike that cause of the list.

Same goes for the malware scans.

Now also can you now update the system specs please as it is really needed now to look at the hardware too. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/180324-system-info-see-your-system-specs.html because there is also a set list of components I like to look through first. For example this is one that I like to see run first up on the PSU

Using HW Info

PART A:

You can test the volts onthe PSU with HW Info HWiNFO,HWiNFO32/64 - Download <download the right bit version and close the right hand window select Sensorsand scroll down to the power section where you will see what the volts aredoing see my pic. In my pic the section (Nuvoton)with VBATT is a dead give away you are in the section for the rail voltages. There are other section titles and one that pops up often is ITE

Now the voltage on thedifferent rails have to be within 5% =+/- of what is required or the machinewill not work properly if at all.

See this for the railvoltage info

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/power-supply-specifications-atx-reference,3061.html (Section 2.)

The original right handwindow shows the machine running and is handy for that but for looking at thecomponents in some detail close it and use the main left hand side panel

FOR OTHER COMPONENTS

PART B:

Open each small squarewith + in it on the section the components are in and then click on theindividual component/s (it willhighlight in blue) - in the right hand side will appear all sorts of detailsincluding brands speeds and other essential info that particular device. Seepic for example.

This is one component often overlooked - that if out of whack can and will shut down the machine or even not let it start up.

To send snips see this http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/9733-screenshots-files-upload-post-seven-forums.html

Ok mate well perhaps the disk check has corrected something and it might as be that we let the machine run as is and see what happens. Like I aid earlier this dump issue is one that is ambiguous and can be either - or when it comes down to hard and soft wares.

Keep us posted:)
