The laptop started BSOD a couple of months ago and happens randomly as far as I can see. A peek at an older dump a few days ago, indicated that the cause might be the Wireless driver. The wireless LED has been flashing a lot recently, whereas it originally stayed on constantly. I updated the Atheros driver and the LED now stays on permanently again but it did not cure the crashing.

I have tried removing each 2GB of RAM and running on just 1 module but still got BSOD. No additional hardware has been added since before this started to occur. It often happens during browsing in IE 11 but this may just be coincidence.

Any advice you can give me fro9m the attached dump file would be much appreciated.

Geoff.

Re: above BSOD problem. More details found regarding memory.

Further to this problem, I ran Memtest 86 in order to check my RAM

When I do the test with 4GB RAM installed (2 x 2GB modules) I get the following failure:
Test 4
Pass 0
Address 00154e72164 - It is always the same address on every run.
Error Bits 00000000 - 5454.1
Good ffffffff
Bad fffff7ff

If I remove one of the modules and test them separately, I get passes on every run.

thanks in advance for any advice.

Geoff
