BSOD randomly occuring

so i just updated the bios there was one update left and the description of the bios update was system stability could that possibly fix the bsod? i ran the driver verifier pretty much all day and had it on while comp idled all night and no bsod occured but what would happen if i picked all the microsoft drivers in the verifier? would that be bad or would nothing happen? or would it maybe give a clue on if something is wrong if i bsod while it had those selected?

Windows drivers are rarely the real cause and are only updated through Windows Update.
They can however be verified with the System File Check utility in an admin command prompt so you won't need verifier to check them ;)

Please keep verifier running.
It doesn't always catch the driver and sometimes it is needed to run verifier a few times to get all the drivers.

ok so I just did a windows update check and found like 150+ updates i didnt install could some of these possibly fix the bsod issue? I also heard of some win 7 updates being a cause of bsod any way you could possibly tell me which of those to avoid?

I can only tell you that those updates could solve the problem and also could improve performance.
It is however recommended to install them in fases of like 5-10 at a time.

I normally install every update separated from the others to check if it causes problems, but with 150+ I would understand you want to go through them all a.s.a.p. so I would install a couple of updates at a time.

I have no idea what updates are causing BSOD's for others, I have never experienced it and never seen it happen in Windows 7.

The cause is memory corruption due to a read error.

I'd say, enable driver verifier and install the updates ;)

ok so I just formatted the harddrive and fresh installed win 7 on it I didn't install any important updates the disk had i just left it empty of updates for now and the only thing I installed was the realtek lan driver from the mobo cd and firefox web browser. If I get any BSOD that are of the same issue with memory will it be certain its a hardware issue since there wouldn't really be any drivers causing it?

I would recommend to install updates as some contain fixes for BSOD's, but yes in most cases it would mean a hardware problem.

Don't cleanup your pc until the crashes are gone.
This makes it difficult to find a patern.

Diagnostic Test

 DRIVER VERIFIER

   Warning
Please make a backup of your important files and get your rescue media or create one.
Please create a restore point.

Please follow this tutorial to run driver verifier.

Driver verifier stresses your drivers and will crash your pc if any driver fails due to a violation.

Driver verifier should be performed for a max of 48 hours, or when you have a bluescreen, whatever comes first.

If driver verifier has found a violation and you can't get back into windows normally, try to boot into safe mode and reset in safe mode driver verifier, or in the troubleshooting options open command prompt and type verifier /reset.

   Note
Your system will act very sluggishly while driver verifier is enabled, this is normal as your drivers will be being subjected to heavy testing in order to make them crash.

so no bsod for a long while but i just got one when i clicked restart heres the log Idk if it was due to having the comp on for over a week and using it might be as programs began to act odd with crashing and stuff here and there once in a bit.

That might be due to everything that the pc has saved in the meantime, mostly cache that has been saved.
It happens that when a pc is on for quite a while without a single shutdown/restart, the pc acts slow or things are crashing.
This is because several data is saved in the memory, eventually there is a lot of data unused in the memory or other things that causes trouble. This will be gone once you restart/shutdown your pc, because this will erase the data in the memory as the memory is volatile (loss of data without power)

Shutdown/restart the pc a few times a week and see how it goes.
