I played the game today, and randomly I got BSOD. I took note of the error report from Windows when the PC returns to the desktop after restart.
Note that these are in Danish, due to the system being Danish.

Report on the first error:

After this I updated the Nvidia Graphics Driver, as I thought that could be a possible cause. When loading my saves in Garry's Mod, another BSOD wanted to say hi to me. Again, I took notes:

Thanks for the welcome :)
Just a little question: Why exactly 306.23? What do I do when another new (after the one I've just installed) update comes out? Just stay on 306.23 or update? Also, just to note, the BSOD happens randomly, or so it seems. When I've completed this process, I can't tell the results instantly. I just tested Garry's Mod again after posting this topic, but it didn't BSOD there.
I'll let you know if anything happens, or if there has gone alot of time without BSOD.

Alright, report time.

I did as you said, and installed Driver Fushion, then booted in Safe Mode. In Driver Fushion, I had 3 Nvidia components. One called Chipset, another called PhysX and a third called Vis (Danish and means "Show"). I marked them all red, and clicked the Delete button at the bottom. It made a list of files and prompted a restart. I did, and when I came back, everything was zoomed, just like Safe Mode. I counted on it being because of the lack of GPU driver.

Now this is where the wierdness starts:
In Driver Fushion, the 3 Nvidia options was still there. I didn't delete again, as I thought that was just a list, and it may still be. But when I downloaded the 306.23 driver and when it was finished installing (Did the Advanced option and chose Clean Install, just to be safe), it reported that the a PhysX of either the same version or higher was installed, meaning that it didn't need to install the 306.23 one. (This may be from the 306.97 driver I installed before). Can this make the problem persist, as the PhysX wasn't completely removed?

I guess that will not be a problem, as I also have got the same result when I tried to roll back to this one.....

Observe the system now, let us know the situation.

Not told it earlier ... but now it is the right time.

► AVG is making your system crash.

Uninstall them all using AVG Removal Tool:

  • Start Menu\Programs\AVG
  • Start Menu\Programs\AVG PC TuneUp
Then, first run a complete virus scan.

And, use Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows as your antivirus; free MBAM as the on demand scanner.

► Do one more thing, have your storage devices checked. As there are some ntfs errors.

Alright, I'll do this whenever I can. But is it AVG in general, or only PC TuneUp? I have used AVG as my antivirus for a long time without errors. Is it safe to try only unistalling TuneUp, and then install AVG fully in the next BSOD, if it comes? Also, if I do use Microsoft's, should I keep with it, or can I come back to AVG?

As for the storage devices, I don't have any SSD, it's an HDD, or so I've been told by those who made the PC. They also gave me 2 years warranty, if I don't cause any problems. That makes me not want to reseat the power supplies (I have little experience of the insides of a desktop, and literally no experience in building/modifying). Is it required, or can I skip. Maybe I can get the company who made it do the hardware stuff, which'll make me keep the warranty.

But thanks for the quick reply! :D
I'll do most of this as soon as I can. And sorry if I'm asking alot of questions, that's just how I am :P

If AVG haven't caused any problem earlier, you are just lucky, but such a luck, sadly, does not continue for long. AVG is a villain for any computer system, it may cause strange issues there. And, as an antivirus, it is crap.

You need to uninstall it. Otherwise there is no way to recover those crashes, simple, ans crystal clear.

What I have supplied you is totally free, most light to the system, never make a crash, and best in AV performance.

As it is not a SSD, skip the first step. Follow the others. If it is just a file system error (as I am gusseting), warranty is of nothing to do here. It is not damaged, just the file system got corrupted.

Any more questions :) ?

Alright, the chkdsk reported no errors at the end when the system restarted (did the start on restart option). That Seagate tool sounds to me like chkdsk. Is it an alternative or should I do it? And thanks for the fast replies.

Oh, and is it safe to return to the newest Nvidia driver? :)

First I am answering your question ....
1. Seatools does the same thing apparently as chkdsk does, but it does it deeper and with some other dynamics, there are a variety of tests.

2. No, wait for another update by nVidia. Till date, there is no further update.

Now answer my questions :)
1. Have you uninstalled AVG completely?

2. What is the situation after uninstalling it? Is it still crashing?

If so, go for seatools. If not, dont need anymore.

So, let us know the situation.

It's funny, because I just read the mail notification on my iPod while waiting for Garry's Mod to load a server. The I Alt-Tab'd out of it and opened Chrome to reply here. As soon as Chrome was loaded, I chrashed with the error MEMORY_MANAGEMENT:

It's wierd, because all my 5 crashes since this started has always had Garry's Mod/Team Fortress 2 AND Google Chrome open in the background at the same time. And Skype, cause that's always open.

As to your question, both the AV and the Tuneup has been removed, searching in the start menu only reveals the shortcuts, some files in /AppData/Local/Temp and some files for the desktop Gadget.

I have had this MEMORY_MANAGEMENT chrash before, which was caused by some hardware errors in the RAM. Under the warranty, I got them replaced with some new ones, and they ran a Memtest to make sure that there was no errors on the new ones. There was not.
I have grabbed it all again, and attached to this post.

Just got another BSOD today. I haven't had the time to run that memtest, but I'm going to do it when I get a reply to this question: I cannot remove the RAM-modules and have one at a time in the PC. Is it fine to have all my modules in place at the time of the memtest? If not I'll have to have the company do it for me so that it doesn't void my warranty. This does go under it, so I can just make them do it.

Hmm. That's wierd. I don't even have Atheros, my network adapter is ICIDU. And if I do have Atheros, I don't even know which one. It wasn't listed in the specifications of this PC. And about the display drivers, you told me half a week ago to do exactly the same, and I did it, so I already have that particular Nvidia driver :/
