BSOD randomly when playing Garry's Mod

Here is a tutorial on running memtest86+ http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.html
Do you have a wireless card installed?
The drivers for your motherboard are located here. Make sure that is your motherboard, but I believe that is the motherboard you listed in the first of this thread. Unless you have add on hardware, those are the only drivers you should need except your graphics card driver.
Download the 306.97 drivers from the Nvidia site.
I will post in a seperate post how to update Nvidia drivers for those having driver problems, if you like. But, the PhysX driver cannot be uninstalled in safe mode and the display drivers cannot be uninstalled from device manager nor rolled back from device manager any longer. That is why your latest driver install did not install the physX driver.

I do have a network card intalled. ICIDU NI-707544. I don't think I have any other addons on my computer. Is there a place to check all installed drivers?
As to the Atheros, what do I do? The athrx.sys is on the PC, but searchin Atheros makes no results :/

I am installing the Nvidia drivers now. And I'll see when I have serveral hours to do the memtest. I do hope this problem will be solved soon ...

As a test, why not go to C:/Windows/system32/drivers and find the atheros.sys driver. Rename it to atheros.bak. That way it won't load as a driver. See how the computer runs and if everything works. If it causes problems, rename it back to what it was. just a suggestion to find out if it is needed and what uses it.

Appearantly I do need that athrx.sys. After renaming and restarting, the network client said "Please plug in a Network Adapter". So I do need it. Should I try to update it? I have no idea what specific model it is, but it may be NI-707544, due to the client being named ICIDU NI-707544.

EDIT: There is no such Atheros driver/model. I'll contact the producers and see if they can tell me what it is.

Now, update the network driver.
First, download the network card driver from manufactuer's website, ATHEROS drivers for Microsoft Windows (Atheros?????) or PCI Card 150N - Wireless - Networking, I am not very sure :(
Then reinstall the driver:

  1. Click the Start Button, type "devmgmt.msc" (without quotation marks) in the Start Menu Search box and press Enter.
  2. Double click to expand "Network adaptors".
  3. Right click your network card and click Uninstall.
  4. Check "Delete driver software for this device" check box, click OK.
  5. Restart the computer
  6. If windows does not auto configure the appropriate drivers at startup, install the downloaded one manually.
Is it any helpful?

I just contacted the manufacture of my PC, and they said that they think it's the RAM. They think this because I haven't had any problems connecting to the network ever. They also don't know what model of Atheros it is, but they think it's a TP-Link network adapter because it uses Atheros (that's what they said).

So here's my plan:

Run the memtest when I have the time.
-IF there's errors, I will take my PC to the manufacturer and get the RAM replaced. I will also ask them about the network adapter thing.

-If there are no errors, I will try to get further information on the network adapter. Maybe even go to the manufacturer to have them look at it.

Sounds good?

I don't know if that's the adapter. It really looks like it, but it isn't on Atheros' list of network adapters that use Atheros Chipset. And the manufacturer tell me that they usually use TP-Link (Which does have an Atheros Chipset). But my client refers to that adapter you listed. :/

By the way, just got another BSOD. Maybe this will bring more valuable information.

Alright, so I did the memtest today, though I only had time for 4 passes. It passed with no errors. I'll do another 4 tomorrow, or someday soon (they don't have to be consecutive, do they?). I am going to do a bit of research on my network adapter. Perhaps any of you know a program that can scan the computers components and check what adapter I have?
Thanks so much for your help, and I'll report back when I've got the RAM replaced if there are errors, or if I get the correct driver updated :)

I guess this is PCI Card 150N - Wireless - Networking

As I promised, I did some research on my network adapter. Googling Icidu and Atheros makes no other results than shopping sites where you can buy both products. I went to Icidu's website and downloaded the drivers. The athrx.sys file was in the package :/
They are however at the same version as the one I currently have. There is no new update. I tried to launch the installer and repair, but it kinda gets stuck right in the beginning. Cancelling makes the loading cursor appear when hovering over the update window. It also removes my internet connection while stuck. It fixes itself with a force-quit from the taskbar and a restart.
I'm gonna do another 4 memtest-passes and see. Actually, I think I'll just take it to the company and have them replace both the RAM cards AND the network card to a completely new brand. Let's hope the problem lies in either of that
