Hi,

In the last 10 days I got several BSOD REFERENCE_BY_POINTER. It does not always happen but I couldn't find any patterns so far except that every time it occurred, the machine was resuming from sleep.

I tried to read & analyze the minidumps with WinDbg but I'm not very familiar with it and the only thing I figured out is that it blames mountmgr.sys for the mess. I've attached the collected information.

Any advice about how to get rid of it is welcome.

Thanks,

Gem

Reduce items at start-up. No software except anti-virus is required plus doing this improves the time for logging into windows:

Remove Kaspersky as a test, and replace with MSE.

Microsoft Security Essentials is recommended from a strict BSOD perspective, compatibility & stability compared to other internet security software. Malwarebytes is a great combo to MSE. They are free and lightweight.

Also uninstall your existing Antivirus software before you install MSE.

   Warning
Do not start the free trial of Malware Bytes; remember to deselect that option when prompted.
