BSOD & Restart problems please help thanks

After reading another thread on here just ran sfc /scannow and it came back 100% ok. I am not sure what it is but you may interpret its significance better than me. Thanks. Is it at the stage of take to a local repair shop yet?

I guess you can try to perfrom a clean install that might fix it.

I have been experiencing the same problems, and I have done everything you have (including a couple of clean wipes), all to no avail. However, I noticed that the problem crops up when Windows updates the drivers for the Radeon HD 4200. Please see the posts here:

Pull the driver and see if that solves the problem. It did for me (at least for now), but I am a bit irked that I have to use generic drivers to make everything work. I also noticed that the problem occured less frequently when I removed the top of my case. I am no expert, but I suspect it is either a driver problem, a faulty, overheating north bridge, or a combination of the two.

Of course, it would be ideal to find some other work around, but I haven't found anything promising. I would love to know if anyone else has some thoughts.

Thanks for the reply i have just picked the PC up from a local repair shop who has reinstalled WIN 7 and updated my motherboard BIOS. They also narrowed it down to one of my OCZ RAM sticks being faulty by swapping the slots around and trying a completely different make and that seems to be it as i have been running on one 2gb stick for a few days and it seems fine (touch wood). I am in the process of trying to return the RAM for exchange but have to send it to Holland. Hopefully they may exchange it for a slightly better model as a gesture of good will. Strange that the mem test never found anything wrong, but is suppose if the fault did not occur when the test was run it wouldn't flag it up. Hope you get it sorted mate, and hope that is the last of my PC problems, for a while, LOL.
