BSOD says Device Driver Attempting to Corrupt the system

Thank you for your patience.

I am very very sorry, but you are STILL NOT CLEAR ENOUGH.

Yes, there is a thing named Collected Files on the desktop.

It contains HUNDREDS of files.

It does not contain anything named %userprofile\Desktop.

It does NOT contain anything named "sent to".

It doees NOT contain anything named "compressed (zipped) folder.

I am not joking or making things hard for you deliberately. I LITERALLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND

Yes, there is a thing named Collected Files on the desktop.

It contains HUNDREDS of files.

It does not contain anything named %userprofile\Desktop.

It does NOT contain anything named "sent to".

It doees NOT contain anything named "compressed (zipped) folder.
Great!

Please NOTE:
- CollectedFiles should contain the following files
  • hotfix.txt
  • *.dmp
  • dxdiag.txt
  • hosts.txt
  • systeminfo.txt
  • drivers.txt
  • msinfo32.nfo
  • eventlog.txt
  • uninstall.txt
  • installed.txt
- %userprofile%\Desktop is the LOCATION of CollectedFiles, the FULL PATH of CollectedFiles should be %userprofile%\Desktop\CollectedFiles.
- "sent to", this is an option that shows when you RIGHT-CLICK CollectedFiles.
"sent to" will then show "compressed (zipped) folder", this is an option to create a zip file.

Thank you for your help. Hopefully the zip file is attached to this post.

Irony: I had to ditch this computer because of BSOD, windows 7. Replacement computer is only a few months old. It has windows 10. It froze, had to hard reboot. I suspect overheating, as criticism of this model of computer is "power supply not adequate" whatever that means.
At any rate, won't work any more.
Comes on with a spinning dotted circle, even when booted into Safe Mode.
So, now I have TWO broken computers.

Power supply is the hardware part that provides every part with power, with laptops the power supply is the adapter that comes with the laptop. With desktops it is the part that has the on/off switch at the back of the case.

Power supply not adequate means that the power supply is not able to do its job which is providing power.

If the power supply isn't adequate, you really should return it and get a new pc. In terms of behavior, it means that you can get all kinds of issues, from BSODs to freezes to random error messages to a computer that won't even boot.

Thanks, was the Zip file I attached what you needed?
For now, could we please only talk about that old computer?
I will get confused otherwise.

Just to be clear about my last post, I was talking about two completely different computers, old and new.

My previous post was about your new pc.

The zip file attached is from 20 September, if you haven't gotten any crashes after that date it's good, but please confirm that you haven't, or have, gotten crashes after 20 September.

If you have gotten crashes after 20 September, unfortunately I have to ask you to provide a new zip file using the command from this post.

Ok.
Yes, I have gotten crashes after 20 september.

Status update: As of July, I have not been running the BSOD computer, except to run Memtest and to send you reports.
When turned on to send you Memtest, as has been common, it ran for maybe 24 hours then again BSOD.
Note that there have been many varieties of BSOD error messages.
I'm presuming you need a more current Memtest.
I think I will be able to run the damaged and the new computer simultaneously, so I will now launch Memtest yet again, and go through the agony of finding the search results.
Curious: WHY doesn't Memtest allow you to choose WHERE you want the serach resluts to be stored?
WHY doesn't Memtest automatically just put results up in a box on the desktop, the way MalwareBytes does?
Thank you for your help.

Update. After two hours, I finally got a USB drive loaded with Memtest86, then couldn't get it to boot.

Had to search and wrestle with BIOS to get it to recognize and put USB at top of boot list. I think.
I've never done this junk.

Before, I had a CD ROM with Memtest86 on it, but that is lost.

At any rate, booted and instead of launching Memtest scan, it is nothing but a black screen
with a blinking white cursor in the top upper left.

Completely unresponsive to mouse or keyboard.

UPDATE: Took out flash drive. Had to physically reboot. Computer started normally.

I found Memtest86 CD disk. Rebooted F10, and Bios had rejected my "make USB top priority setting".

Put in Memetest, rebooted normally. Again, Black screen, white cursor, but after ten seconds, suddenly Memtest launched.

People online say this frozen black screen indicates a virus.

How many Memtest passes do you need me to run?

Hi Bearcat,

Im late on the scene
Apoligies to axe0 for hijacking BSOD

1) W7 computer

please run sfc/scannow and KB947821

SFC /SCANNOW : Run in Command Prompt at Boot

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=20858

2) W10 computer
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...-by-using-the-dism-or-system-update-readiness -
follow the instuctions - both tools DISm/SFC

Roy

Hello, thanks. It has been a Looooong time since this problem started and this thread started.
I'm pretty sure I already ran ScanNow.

At the moment, the computer is running Memtest, and it takes DAYS for that to run the number of reccomended passes, can't remember how many have to be run.

That, at the moment, is the information I need: How Many Passes needed?

After that, happy to run the scans you suggest, though would like to know why you suggest them.

I can't tell if I 'm doing this right or not, trying to post DM Log collector.

Ran Memtest86 for eight passes, said Zero Errors.

Hi Bearcat,

going thru the event logs
theres a Machine check exception 14 on your Northbridge.

So i googled
this is about the only post i could find, so its rather unusuall:sarc:

AMD Northbridge Machine Check Exception?

Really need to see the relevent details pane from the event error.
(Network adapters ?? see below)

Update your Network adapters, and UNCHECK both boxes in the power management tab

I was able to find a Google page that told how to update Network adapters, and they now say they are all up to date.
However, you're not giving me enough information.
WHERE is this power management tab?

Thank you. Unfortunately, it might be too late.

At some point in this months long process, I took this sick computer to MicroCenter and paid for
an analysis. They said I had bad RAM, and sold me replacement RAM.

This turned out to be completely wrong. The old RAM was fine.

Since I wanted an upgrade anyway, I purchased more RAM online and installed it with no issues.

Long story short, Microcenter agreed to a refund.
This return happend days ago. I took out all the RAM sticks to find out which ones had to go
back to the store.

Returning home, I put RAM back in, turned on computer,
and it beeped. Reseated the two RAM, just two of the four I have, and:

and got a black
screen with this message:

Your computer can't come out of hibernation.
Status 0x0000411
Info: An error occured processing the restoration data
File: \hibefil.sys
Any information that was not saved before the computer went into hibernation will be lost.

It said Enter at the bottom.

I probably made a mistake, I just physically shut down the computer, and that is where it is now.
I should mention that at some point I purchased third party physical CD restoration disks for Windows 7, but never used them. The license key sticker is still on the machine.
