hey, i've recently been getting BSOD, get it every few hours, and cant seem to be able to find out what it is i was wondering if anyone could help me, this problem started happening when i upgraded my pc from 4gb of ram to 6gb of ram.

i've tryed:
1. Resetting the CMOS
2. Flashing the Bios
3. move the RAM's in diffrent slots

here is what i get from the event viewer: (Event ID 1001)

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000001e (0xffffffffc0000005, 0xfffff800028d308d, 0x0000000000000000, 0xffffffffffffffff). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 122709-14289-01.

what else can i do ?

Reviewing the event viewer logs is one fast way to learn which device driver is the cause if this is software related. The manufacturer's name even if differing from that of a program or addon device is often the thing to look for and then remove even reinstall the program or driver set.

The external references here can also be considered like disabling the automatic restart when you get a BSOD in order to take notes on the blue screen error information displayed usually very briefly.

Disable UAC. Control Panel > System And Maintenance > System > Advanced System Settings > Advanced tab > Under Startup And Recovery > Click Settings > Clear the Automatically Restart check box > click OK. Enable UAC.
Windows Vista, Windows 7 Stop Errors Or Blue Screen Of Death

The "0x0000001e" is common with the NT cored versions of Windows going back to 2000. The memory you added can also be considered a likely problem if a different brand or simply the same while the timings are different or you mixed two different types like standard with performance dimms since this began once you added in the additional dimms.

The first thing now would be removing those two to see if the problem suddenly clears up on it's own. The dimms themselves can be in perfect working order but simply a mismatch for the original memory.

If the problem persists following that you may be looking at a temp problem now being seen or even another hardware now seeing a fault of some type. First you have to narrow the list of possible causes down a bit however.

Upload Dump Files:
Please go to C:\Windows\Minidump and zip up the contents of the folder. Then upload/attach the .zip file with your next post.
{Left click on the first minidump file.
Hold down the "Shift" key and left click on the last minidump file.
Right click on the blue highlighted area and select "Send to"
Select "Compressed (zipped) folder" and note where the folder is saved.
Upload that .zip file with your next post.

If you have issues with "Access Denied" errors, try copying the files to your desktop and zipping them up from there. If it still won't let you zip them up, post back for further advice.

If you don't have anything in that folder, please check in C:\Windows for a file named MEMORY.DMP. If you find it, zip it up and upload it to a free file hosting service - then post the link to it.
Then, follow the directions here to set your system for Minidumps (much smaller than the MEMORY.DMP file): Set MiniDump

i had 2 x 2gb before (4gb) and added another 2gb for the total of 6gb,, i tryed removing the old ones and just run on the new chip, but i still get the same BSOD.

after i flashed my BIOS with an update that is sopose to increase the stability on my motherboard with more ram, i took the new RAM chip out of my system, and then the pc stopped giving me BSOD.

So i am thinking, if it is a faulty RAM i got, or another thing that came to my mind,
my board has 4 x RAM slots, 2 x blue colored ones and 2 x Black ones, i noticed with the "Evga E-Leet Tuning Utility" when i have the 2 old RAM chips in, it tells me its running in "Dual Channel" but when i put the 3rd RAM in it starts running in "Single Channel"

the ram i got is : 3 x Corsair 667MHz ValueSelect 2GB
240pin, PC2-5300, CL5

also i added the minidump files, wich are in my first post in this thread.

Upon seeing problems when running the new dimm only as well as with the first two I would also suspect a bad dimm. When adding new memory in adding in matched pairs is the usual recommend since some boards still see the forced single channel mode. But some boards run into problems when all dimm slots are populated too.

The option to move up from 4gb quite adequate for most desktops would be considering a pair of 4gb dimms if the board takes those. For 6gb a pair of 1gb dimms would still see the board set in dual cnannel mode however with each dimm adding 1gb to both channels not just 2gb added to one. That would seem to be the 6gb option there.

k thanks, the other day when i started having this problem, i noticed aswell in the Event Viewer that it said that i had a Faulty RAM/memory or something like that, 2 hours after i got BSOD, so today i went to the store where i bought it , and told them that i got a faulty RAM from them, so they replaced it for a new one, wich i put into my PC 15mins ago, gonna see in the next 24hrs if i will get a BSOD again, otherwise this problem is solved. anyways, cheers for all the help :)

I thought it was odd for you to be seeing it run in the single channel even with more memory on one channel since that was seen with the old 3gb max board with 3 dimm slots with all slots in use. At least they replaced it for you without a fuss. Some places won't take certain things back once opened and used! Good for you! :D
