I don't know what to do now and am about at wits end. I have a fresh Win 7 x64 install and was setting up my various software. Many times I would all of a sudden get a quick scramble of the screen and it would shoot to the BSOD. I was always able to reboot and get back in so I assumed it was a bad display driver or something something else. I was just going to uninstall and reinstall soft and drivers until I got it right.

However, the last BSOD seems to be my last. Now when it reboots it simply goes through all of the BIOS stuff but NEVER even attempts to load the OS. It just stops at that stage - and hangs there. No hard drive activity going on - NOTHING.

My RAID says it is healthy and fine in BIOS. When I tab through the boot order it is there and set correctly. The RAM counts up and looks fine... I have no idea what it could be?!?

Did my Mobo go bad somehow?

Are my hard drives (or one of them) corrupt? But if they were, wouldn't I be told that in BIOS?

Is it my RAM? Even though I was running the OS on and off for a few days, and could it all go bad like that? I have tried swapping out different sticks to see, but the thing is I cant even put in my Win 7 DVD and run the memory diag from the install cd. I can get to the point to do it, and it says "you must restart to run the memory bla bla, but when I reboot it doesn't go anywhere. It doesn't load anything from the hard drive, just gets to the "push any button to load from cd"....

I am totally clueless at this point and growing forever frustrated. I hope someone can help me here...

Hi and welcome!

Simple thing to do is attach the HDD to another system, see how it responds and if it can be read normally if you can get to Windows.

If the HDD is well, I'm sure we will have other possible troubleshooting steps for you to try.

If it's read well, get us the minidumps.

They will be at \Windows\Minidump (You might have to assign a drive letter first with disk management.)

Compress them with Winrar or zip them, attach to a post.

My collegue TorrentG is correct. Try the HD elsewhere.

To properly diagnose the problem you need to remove as much hardware as possible. First thing I would remove is the RAID (if possible), external usb devices, etfc.

The only things to leave are keyboard, mouse, monitor, mobo, and some of the ram.

If it doesnt crash add one thing at a time until it dies and you will know what component is causing the problem

Hope this helps

Am I able to just raid the RAID 0 hard disks out of one box and put them in another like that?

And could RAM ever cause a machine to act like that - just not allow the system to boot up to the hard disk?
