i have been saving for 7 years to buy a new system
finally i buy and i get very anxious due to bsod
with normal pc use i have no issues like browsing or watching a youtube etc.
my first bsod occur after an hour of gaming. i am using monitor software to regulate cpu and gpu temp and nothing weird, gpu 55 ish max, cpu is at 72 degrees.

i have no idea what the bsod was called, i do know it locked up the system and i think i heard a soft high pitch sound during the duration of the bsod. while it happened i panicked and reset it wouldnt start windows it wouldnt go passed the logo i turned system of and tried it again, it worked.

the only thing i didnt replace is my 5 year old psu corsair 620hx, these seem so durable i didnt feel the need to replace it when making a new system.

*update* (my system specs updated)
-yesterday bsod, said memory management stop 0x0000001a etc
it happened right after i closed a game.
(10 hours of memory 86+ run no errors, windows 7 memory manage , no errors.)
currently using every new driver available, no conflicts in device manager.
check disk resulted in no errors.
system windows file check resulted in all files being ok.

if anyone could help me i would be very happy.

Mishi

Hello mishi, welcome to SevenForums. First, there were no .dmp files in the attachment. We do need these. To ensure the .dmps are being created, do the following;
Go to Start and type in "sysdm.cpl" (without the quotes) and press Enter
Click on the Advanced tab
Click on the Startup and Recovery Settings button
Ensure that "Automatically restart" is unchecked
Under the Write Debugging Information header select "Small memory dump (64 kB)" in the dropdown box
Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as "%systemroot%\Minidump" (without the quotes)
Click OK twice to exit the dialogs, then reboot for the changes to take effect.
After doing so, perform whatever tasks you would normally do and try to get a few .dmps for us.

Also, please update your system drivers from here. GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1155 - G1.Sniper 3 (rev. 1.0)

mishi, apparently there was a .dmp. It indicates an unknown driver to fault. I see you have AVG installed, in addition to that, please install Malwarebytes, the free version(do not start the trial) and run a FULL scan on all user accounts.

Thanks to writhziden for pointing out the .dmp I missed.

that is good news. so i dont have to worry about a hardware failure ?
i havent seen the bsod since i updated drivers on intel network but it could be a coincidence

weight lifted of my shoulders when you mentioned that it is a driver problem.

if something happens again i will write the code down , is it ok if i ask for your help again ? i hope nothing happens of course but i dont know if it is gone or i am just lucky atm.

i cant thank you enough for now.

could it be something cpu related like a bad memory controller inside the cpu ?
or something motherboard related or psu related ( psu corsair 620hx but have been using it for over 5 years)

i use xmp settings for memory in bios, the voltages seem to go up an down depending on use of cpu ?

i am normally very thorough when it comes to drivers and since my last computer core 2 duo i never had a single bsod. ( 7 years in a row)

i now used memory scan windows and used 86+ memory scan from a boot disk i let it run for 10 hours with no errors, checked disk, used malware bytes and virus scans nothing to find.

what else can i do ?

The report you gave shows that Windows is not working properly. Since you are here, you already knew that. 3rd party utilities often only tell us that a Windows process caused the crash which is highly unlikely. That is why we use WinDbg to get all the information possible when analyzing the .dmps.

Also, to get better help, please fill in your system specs in your profile and not in a post in this thread: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/180324-system-info-see-your-system-specs.html

For the CPU-Z screenshots, can you provide the SPD tab and an image of each RAM module in each slot there?

Crashes point to memory, so those screenshots may help.

thank you Writhziden
i have updated cpu-z screens with all spd memory slots.
you think it is hardware related, like faulty or conflicted memory with motherboard ? the box said z-77 compatible , also mem86 after 10 hours showed no conflicts.

thanks for trying to help it is appreciated.

The CPUz screens you uploaded shows that you have the RAM overclocked.

Please do, in this order;
1. Full backup
2. Download and install REVO uninstaller, the free version.
3. Uninstall ALL instances of Gigabyte Tweak Launcher by choosing the highest level, which I believe to be advanced. There will be a section for you to delete registry entries and excess files, please remove all of them.
4. Uninstall, with the same steps as #3, EVGA Precision X.
5. Reboot and see if the problem persists.

On a side note, I see you have AVG as your AV. AVG is known to cause issues and BSODs. Most of us here use MSE(Microsoft Security Essentials).

@Work I use a Lenovo 5536B8U + Lenovo U300s
- uninstalled avg virus
- installed a fresh copy again of windows 7

i havent tried to overclock my system, i do have the utilities that come of the gigabyte install disc but i do not use them. i will however do everything possible to find the culprit and uninstall those utilities as you suggested.

the memory is factory 2133c9 can you explain why you say overclocked ?
i have to choose xmp profile in bios for the factory settings of 2133 to
show, standard settings is 1600.

i did try as you said a few days ago and i tried to underclock/ using the standard settings for the bios
but those resulted in the 2nd bsod with memory management with settings at 1600

the kit i bought is g.skill f3-2133c9q-16gab pc3-17000 , i also ran mem86+ for 10 hours at 2133 with no errors, i am so pulling my hair out of frustration...

something strange happened after installation of windows 7, it boots really fast but when the desktop is about to show you see the busy marker that takes over 10 seconds before it shows desktop, i changed page file from unlimited to 2000-2000 and it was a bit faster..

i am using msi afterburner now, but only for the fan control i dont use it for anything else

then my sound didnt register (right after install) with drivers in place, even with normal restarts it would not produce sound, i had to turn off the computer for 5+ seconds and turn it on then all of a sudden i had sound ? i never had this before with onboard sound and found it very peculiar to power down the system where normal restart did nothing.

i hope that information is of some use

thanks james i really appreciate the help.

ps
i have added the bsod i had after a fresh install when playing a game to the other file Windows_NT6_BSOD_jcgriff2 new it also has a new perfmon and the other minidumps that i saved.

Mishi, after you reinstalled, did you go back to the Gigabyte website and reinstall your drivers also?

I think it's time to stress your system. Here are the things you will need;
1. CoreTemp
2. HWMonitor(Not the PRO version)
3. GPUz
4. Prime95
5. Memtest86+
6. Furmark
7. Video Memory Stress test

After you have downloaded all of these items, the very first thing I want you to do is run Memtest86. Let it run overnight. This tutorial states that 7 passes is enough, but we have seen instances of 20+ passes needing to be processed to catch errors. After doing this, post back the results.

The next test we will perform is Prime95, you will also be running CoreTemp and HWMonitor. Before beginning P95, start CoreTemp and HWMonitor. Upon starting CoreTemp, you will be prompted to choose from one of four tests. You will be running all three of the, in this order; Small FFTs, Large FFTs, Blend, and finally Custom. When it comes time to run the Custom, the only change you should make is to set the maximum RAM tested as, slightly lower than your maximum available memory. To check current available memory, in your windows search box, type System Information and press enter, on the right side of the screen, there will be a line that says "available physical memory". Set your max memory to a value just under this. 1gb = 1024mb. While running any of these tests, watch your CPU temp using CoreTemp. If your temperature exceeds 70degrees Celsius, please stop the test. After running each test for about an hour, please take screens of both CPUz, and HWMonitor and reset their values. After doing this, post back the results.

The last two tests are going to test your GPU. Please run Furmark. While running Furmark, please use CPUz, HWMonitor, and GPUz. After running this test, post back the screens from the monitors and let us know the results. Then run Video Memory Stress test in the same fashion.
