Hi all, I just built this PC recently (~1 week ago) have not encountered any problems until recently when I've been trying to overclock it. My motherboard is the Asrock Z97 Pentium anniversary board, the one that automatically overclocks with the touch of a button (I choose what speed I want and it sets the multiplier and core voltage). It lets you choose if you want to OC it to 3.8ghz, 4.0ghz, 4.2 ghz. I currently have it set at 4.0ghz which seems to be pretty tame compared to other z97+g3258 owners.

I have 2 monitors connected to the PC and it will only bluescreen when i push the cpu to its limit. Ie. when I'm watching Youtube/Twitch.tv at HD and playing League of Legends or Dark Souls 2 on the other screen. When I am doing this, my cpu temp stays between 70-80C while at idle it hovers around 35C and has never BSOD at idle.

I've noticed that before BSOD occur there will be some latency stuttering (internet lag) and I'm hoping the problem is outdated drivers (specifically the realtek ethernet controller).

I am aware of the long-term risk of overclocking my pentium g3258 but I am just using it as a stopgap until the new 1150 chips come out.

Any help/advice will be much appreciated.

I haven't had the time to run a 24-hour test but in the past 2 freezes that I've had, I noticed I wasn't doing any heavy CPU task but I was downloading a 5GB file at anywhere from 1-4mbs/s (heavy network usage).

Was there any evidence in my dump files that my realtek ethernet driver was causing freezes?

No there wasn't, although it is possible its the issue, but being masked by the 0x124 BSOD's. It wouldn't hurt to update the network driver if an update is available.
