BSOD using FreemakeVideoConverter Page_Fault_ other frequent BSOD

Thank you Essenbe. I shall try first by desinstalling Avast. The idea of running Driver verifier is a little frightening. I might postpone it until getting a new BSOD and grab all after uninstalling AVAST.

As you wish. It is really pretty simple, but if it concern's you, we'll just wait and see if we can accomplish the same thing other ways.

Well, I am having trouble with this one,
Code:
Use !analyze -v to get detailed debugging information.
BugCheck 24, {1904fb, fffff88002361728, fffff88002360f80, fffff80002667c50}
Probably caused by : [COLOR=red]memory_corruption[/COLOR]
Followup: memory_corruption

Have you changed your Page file or Virtual Memory? But we could still be talking about graphics memory, but that is normally a stop 116.

Essenbe, no idea about what is "Page file or Virtual Memory"? I did not change anything of that sort, at least I am not conscious of doing so. On december 12 I removed the antivirus Avast. The blue screen talked of file corrupt, and at next boot it should run chkdsk /F probably only on disk C:.

I enclose the screen shots when I manage the boot set-up after the memtest last sunday 7/12

The Samsung SSD has the Samsung toolbox that has OS Optimization on it and recommends reducing page file and virtual memory. What did you do with that? What does the toolbox say about your SSD health? Also what port # is your SSD connected to? you most likely have the Intel controller and an add on controller like J micron or Marvell. What is connected to them and what are they set to )IDE, AHCI or Raid), Both Controllers?

Also, which Samsung do you have, 840 Pro, 840 EVO or 850 Pro? What happened just before these BSODs started? Did you change any hardware or install any Software? Something must have changed.

SSD Samsung and other changes

Thank you again Essenbe, here some answers :
I began having difficulties with my hard drive fall of 2013. I had to change the original hard drive and I bought a Samsung SSD 840 Pro series 256 Go and a Western Digital Caviar WDC 1002FAEX 1 To.
I thought I could clone the old Hard drive on the SSD but the old Hard drive was already too deficient. So I reinstalled the whole Windows 7 .
The process was not smooth there were some stops and go before the system could run again.
I had some difficulties in partitionning the WDC but I do not remenber precisely.

As I had to open the Dell I also installed a few weeks later a Buffalo PCI- USB -3 controller
Buffalo Americas | Add SuperSpeed USB 3.0 to your desktop PC.
USB 3.0 PCI Express Card
IFC-PCIE2U3

After that things were working but when connecting external USB Hard drive to the Buffalo Controller I had some problems at least to format the external Hard drive.
I think the BSOD appeared in april but may be sooner.
II " Samsung toolbox that has OS Optimization on it and recommends reducing page file and virtual memory. What did you do with that?" No idea, I did nothing , I did not know there was a toolbox, I remember that I was so desperate with the Samsung SSD and their hot line that I nearly packed it to send it back.

III "What does the toolbox say about your SSD health? Also what port # is your SSD connected to? you most likely have the Intel controller and an add on controller like J micron or Marvell. What is connected to them and what are they set to )IDE, AHCI or Raid), Both Controllers? "
No idea , tell me how to get that information I shall do it . I just think that the controllers are set to IDE and not to RAID.
I apologize for my ignorance.

first page of Samsung Magician

I have just used Samsung Magician Tool , after visiting Samsung web site I understood it was the tool box you quoted , I enclose attached the first page. I remember now that in october 2013 I was afraid of changing to AHCI mode so I did not change anything from the previous config (the original one before the SSD ); probably a mistake ?

OK, I just learned something today. Bon in French means good. :D

Click the start button, type cmd, when the cmd entry appears, right click it and select 'run as administrator. In the black window that appears, type diskpart and press enter. Wait for the command prompt to respond diskpart, then type list disk. Please post a screenshot (http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/9733-screenshots-files-upload-post-seven-forums.html) of the result. Then type select disk X )X representing the number diskpart assigned the SSD (I believe it should say 238 GB) Example: if diskpart assigns the disk as disk #2, you would type select disk 2 and press enter, the command prompt will respond disk 2 is the selected disk, type list partition and press enter. Post a screenshot of that. Type exit and enter, then type exit and enter again, the command prompt will go away.

Go to Disk Management and post a screenshot, this will tell you how (http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/274797-disk-management-post-screen-capture-image.html)

Next click start, type device manager, click on device management, find IDE/ATA/Atapi Controllers, click the small arrow next to it to expand it, post a screenshot of that please.

If you have any questions, please ask. Don't be afraid of the command prompt, but also don't do anything other than the instructions I gave. All we are doing is getting information. It will change nothing, just answer a few questions.

Ok, do you feel comfortable working inside the computer a little? If you do, please turn the computer off, unplug the power cable from the back of the computer, hold down the start button for 30 seconds, it will not start, but it will drain any stored power inside the computer. Take the side panel off, Disconnect 1 cable from the Western Digital drive, usually the smaller one is easiest. Leave your SSD just the way it is. plug the power cable back in and wait a few seconds, if you have led lights on your motherboard, they should come back on. Start the computer and see if it will boot, if you get a BSOD, it is OK, but we hope you don't. You may get error messages that a drive cannot be connected, we knew that already. I just want to see if you can get to the desktop.

Just started fine, may be quicker , could access to desktop and use firefox, only difference Samsung Magician announced immediately an error (without being asked to run, is it always running ) and when capturing a screen shot (of magician) with ALT printscreen the image went directly to dropbox and was not in the clip board contrary to what happened with the WD connected.
Sometimes when booting, before typing password, I get an announce about the Broadcom running but not this time.
I am going to reconnect the WD.

So, do I understand correctly that it will boot fine, but things just don't operate normal? If that is true, leave it disconnected

Then open an elevated command prompt ( click start, type cmd in the search box, right click on the cmd entry and select run as administrator) in the black box that opens, copy/paste sfc /scannow. If you decide to type it, notice the space between the sfc and the /. It is a system file checker which will scan your system files and attempt to correct any missing or corrupt files. What we want are the results to say windows found no integrity violations. If it says files were found but could not be repaired, close the box, reboot and run it again, after opening the administrative command prompt. You may have to reboot and run it three times for it to repair all system files. If it can't repair them after 3 reboots, let us know.

Things operated normally after disconnecting but with the 2 differences I noticed. The one about Samsung magician I do not understand except that when I clicked again on magician it worked fine. What I suspect is that some of the files that Samsung magician use or write to are on disk F:
which was disconnected
may be the same explanation for clipboard or for dropbox.
There might be some bug related to dropbox because some of my BSOD happen in the first minutes of a session when dropbox runs. Anyway I shall run the scan on disks, but if I want to scan the E and F disks I should leave the WD connected ?
Yesterday I already run the CHKDSK /F on disk C: with no errors , is it different from scan ?

SFC is a system file checker that checks and tries to fix and repair corrupted system files. it does nothing with other files that may be divided between the 2 drives. That should not be the case You can install programs entirely on the WD, but you will not get the benefit of the SSD. Under no circumstances should there be system files on both drives. I had noticed in one of your screenshots, it appears that there is a 100MB system reserved on the WD drive that should not be there. That is what Windows boots from. The entire Operating system and all programs should be on the SSD. You can put your Data on the WD, I do that, but there should be no system files there. If there are, you will most likely need a clean install. I can help you do that so that there are no files on the WD that shouldn't be there. That is what I suspect has happened.
