SSD Samsung and other changes
Thank you again Essenbe, here some answers :
I began having difficulties with my hard drive fall of 2013. I had to change the original hard drive and I bought a Samsung SSD 840 Pro series 256 Go and a Western Digital Caviar WDC 1002FAEX 1 To.
I thought I could clone the old Hard drive on the SSD but the old Hard drive was already too deficient. So I reinstalled the whole Windows 7 .
The process was not smooth there were some stops and go before the system could run again.
I had some difficulties in partitionning the WDC but I do not remenber precisely.
As I had to open the Dell I also installed a few weeks later a Buffalo PCI- USB -3 controller
Buffalo Americas | Add SuperSpeed USB 3.0 to your desktop PC.
USB 3.0 PCI Express Card
IFC-PCIE2U3
After that things were working but when connecting external USB Hard drive to the Buffalo Controller I had some problems at least to format the external Hard drive.
I think the BSOD appeared in april but may be sooner.
II " Samsung toolbox that has OS Optimization on it and recommends reducing page file and virtual memory. What did you do with that?" No idea, I did nothing , I did not know there was a toolbox, I remember that I was so desperate with the Samsung SSD and their hot line that I nearly packed it to send it back.
III "What does the toolbox say about your SSD health? Also what port # is your SSD connected to? you most likely have the Intel controller and an add on controller like J micron or Marvell. What is connected to them and what are they set to )IDE, AHCI or Raid), Both Controllers? "
No idea , tell me how to get that information I shall do it . I just think that the controllers are set to IDE and not to RAID.
I apologize for my ignorance.
