With no warning i recieved a BSOD with 0x00000124 whilst watching a youtube video on my self built windows 7 gaming PC. Have had no issues up to now and the system usually runs cool with a cpu idle of around 30 degrees C. I'm at a loss really, the system is only 2/3 weeks old. Please could you help me identify the issue?

Hi and welcome to SF bennett346 :).

Since it is a one time thing I wouldn't worry too much about it, but keep tabs on the system
and if any issues arise again we will be here :) .

BTW, YouTube uses flash which taxes the GPU rather then the CPU,
so I would look more towards your GTX760.

Okay, i'll watch out for any more occurences if they happen. Just out of curioscity do you know what the cause of this could be or is there no indication within the files?

Not very at all, all the dump has in store is that it is a generic L2 Cache Error.

A "stop 0x124" is fundamentally different to many other types of bluescreens because it stems from a hardware complaint. Stop 0x124 minidumps contain very little practical information, and it is therefore necessary to approach the problem as a case of hardware in an unknown state of distress. - H2SO4

I believe it's just the opposite. Flash is 2d and frames are not rendered or accelerated by the GPU. HTML5 is a different story.

I beg to differ, do you have anything to back this up?
But please continue via VM's / PM's (visitor / private messages) as to avoid cluttering this thread :).

Great news!!, please mark this thread as solved then :).

I stand corrected, to an extent, and YoYo is mostly right in the way that flash is "supposed" to be hardware accelerated. In a perfect world, it would be, but there are many different conditions and limitations to this. Enough so that most flash content is still decoded in software (on the CPU).

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I'm still very much getting back into this world of internals and there is a slight learning curve.

bennett346, glad you're not having anymore problems.
