Dell XPS M1530
2.4ghz cpu
256 mb Nvidia GPU
250gb HDD
Windows 7 retail self installed.
Newish installation 1 week old.
Hardware is 3 years old - motherboard is new.

Interestingly this has never happened in the day, only when I left on all night.
There is a known issue of overheating on these laptops, can that be a bsod causer?

Thanks.

Hi and Welcome to SF!

I suspect Symantec EndPoint Protection was the cause. Please remove it completely
Download and run the Norton Removal Tool to uninstall your Norton product | Norton Support

Also, please download and install fresh copy of your intel wifi adapter driver. netw5v32.sys was mentioned in one of the dmp file.

I just realize all of your Symantec/Norton product are out of date. You can either choose to update them or uninstall them.

Welcome to SF!

Remove SPTD with this tool: DuplexSecure - Downloads

Norton is known to cause BSODs, and in your dumps, it wouldn't surprise me at all. Remove it with this tool: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

Replace with the free MSE: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials

Your Intel Wireless adapter drivers are another quite likely cause. Please update them to the latest version.

Install these latest Intel drivers:

 Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology

 Intel(R) Matrix Storage Manager

You may see if Windows Update can find an update for it. Right-click on the device in Device Manager, and select Update Driver Software.

No guarantees, Windows Update does not have a very good reputation for finding good drivers.

I see no driver updates on the Dell support page.

I recommend ignoring the old webcam drivers for now, unless you get more BSODs. If you do, disable the cam in Device Manager.

Thanks a lot for all this.

I thought Symantec was reliable company.. If I think back, it is possible that all the trouble started after symantec. Does it really make sense that their software officially damages systems?

Is Microsoft anti virus just as good as symantec and the rest?

I went to Symantec because my nod32 eset was running the CPU to 100% alot of the time.

I can't speak for all Semantec products, but I know Norton 2009 is known to cause BSODs, and besides, it is bloated and slows down the system.

MSE is at least as good as Norton in threat-detection, and is much lighter weight.

ESET 2010 is known to be very good. If you still have your product license, you can install the latest version of it if you like.

Otherwise, no need to pay for an anti-virus product. That free Microsoft program is all you need. ;)

@OP: It's good antivirus. As I mentioned, the driver of the AV is out of date. Therefore it would not be good idea to let system run on such drivers.
There are a lot of crashes caused by it, so it would be best to run system without it for this time.
