BSOD when connecting device via USB, wdf01000.sys 0x0000001e

Hello thanks for all your assistance in advance.

I have a Dell laptop that I use to connect to an commercial air conditioner via USB.

Whenever I run the software, it will go maybe about 2-3 minutes before blue screening.

Looking at the dumps points to wdf01000.sys but I certainly cannot decipher all the information on there so I am hoping you guys can help me out.


System Specs:
Dell Latitude 6330
i5-3340M 2.7Ghz
8GB RAM
320GB SATA HDD
Windows 7 Enterprise x64


I have tried the same connection with another LG branded laptop with Windows 7 Enterprise x64 and am having no issues there.

WDF is just the Windows Driver Framework. It's being called by the crashing driver (as a way of trying to gracefully crash). The real problem is in the silabser.sys driver.

If you can update the driver (or software as drivers are sometimes packaged with the software) the I would start there. Without at least a kernel dump we're not going to be able to pinpoint a more direct cause.
