BSOD when I'm not around?

There seems to be a pattern of BSODs going on lately. I've gotten them when I had been away at class and my computer is supposedly going into sleep mode. The number is always the same: 0x0000001a (MEMORY_MANAGEMENT). What do you suppose could be going on here? I've already checked my memory.

Unfortunately that is precisely what we need the most. If you cant upload it to us you can always upload it to a sharing site like rapidshare.

If you wish to have others assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder. The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Start your own thread in the appropriate section of the forum and attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
* Briefly describe the problem history and circumstances in the same post. Somebody will attend to your query as soon as possible.

Please do not upload anything further in the ZIPX format. ZIP (and sometimes RAR) are the accepted formats. After going through everything necessary to get the file (the wait to download it and having to install a special program to extract the archive) - I found that the archive was corrupted and won't give us any further info. I've included what the dump file yielded at the bottom of this post...

From the MSINFO32 file between 19Mar2010 and the present:
1 - STOP 0x116 error
9 - STOP 0x117 errors
9 - STOP 0x124 errors
22 - STOP 0x1A errors
4 - STOP 0x24 errors
12 - STOP 0x4E errors
4 - STOP 0xA errors
5 - STOP 0xC1 errors
3 - STOP 0xC4 errors
The large number of different errors usually indicates a hardware problem. Since there's a lot of video problems and a lot of memory issues - I'd have to wonder if it's a problem with the VRAM on your video card. The easiest way to check this is to try another video card

DON'T buy one based on this opinion. If you choose to buy one, make sure you can return it for a full refund. These opinions are wrong as often as they are right.

I would check your nVidia video card and your Logicool QCam (webcam). If you can disconnect your webcam, please do so until we're finished troubleshooting.

As for the video card, please start troubleshooting with the steps at this link: http://www.sevenforums.com/crash-lo...op-0x116-video_tdr_error-troubleshooting.html

Please follow the steps at this link to set the system to generate minidumps: Set MiniDump

Okay, so I looked at all the troubleshooting and set the system to create minidumps.

I'm not sure how you know about my "Logicool Qcam (webcam)." It was actually a Logitech QuickCam IM, and I have gotten rid of it. It is no longer on my computer, and I uninstalled the software? Why is it still showing up where you found it?

Sorry about the Zipx file. I needed to compress the file and I'm not sure how to do that in WinRAR. It was too big to upload to Rapidshare, which only allows up to 500MB (probably for nonpaying customers) and I'm not paying or planning to.

Use the built in zip in Windows. It works well and is less cumbersome than rar.

Your dumps shows error code 4E, PFN_LIST_CORRUPT. Usual causes: Device driver, ?memory. The driver, LVUSBSta.sys, 7/26/2008, is shown as an unloaded module which indicates it was involved in this crash. It is one of the webcam drivers. The dump blames memory corruption for the crash and out of date drivers can and do cause memory corruption. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers and locate this driver. Rename it from .sys to .old and reboot. It will not load.

I also found three other out of date drivers you your system. Update these drivers.
Afc.sys Wed Feb 23 01:58:55 2005 - Arcsoft(R) ASPI Shell (CD/DVD program) http://www.arcsoft.com/public/download.asp. Uninstall this software; it is obsolete. Replace it with a version certified to be compatible with Win 7.

nvsmu.sys Mon Jun 29 03:36:34 2009 - nVidia nForce System Management Controller (nVidia nForce chipset driver) Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers

SSPORT.sys Tue Nov 21 23:41:42 2006 - Samsung printer driver Samsung. Try to update this driver from Samsung. Check your printer's compatibility with Win 7:

Windows 7 Compatibility: Software Programs & Hardware Devices: Find Updates, Drivers, & Downloads

If you cannot update it, rename it as explained previously. I believe your printer will work without this driver.

Take care of these drivers and reboot. Let's see how your system runs. If you get another BSOD, upload it and we will take the next steps.
