Solved BSOD when lid of laptop is closed and idle

Hello!

I have been having problems with my ASUS laptop recently. I am not sure if this is related with the BSODs I've been having but the sound driver fails to boot up from time to time. I appreciate your assistance and time very much!

The BSOD you are getting is due to the Atheros Network adapter driver.
Get an update for it.

Thank you koolkat. I have successfully updated my network drivers thanks to your assistance and things already seem to be less clunky! I will be sure to drop in again within a week to verify things are running smoothly (if not by tomorrow!).

I am sorry for the long gap since my last response. I have actually still been getting the same issue after updating my wireless adapter. Attached is a compilation of .dmp files I have received until now (the old ones are still in there, which are 091112 and 091312).

Your latest dumps are not loading properly. Try grabbing them again.

But they show memory corruption.

Run memtest86+ for 8 passes (Preferably overnight)

Dumps caused by the same driver.

Uninstall Device and Device Driver - Vista Forums
Upgrading drivers for pre-existing device (Use option 2 for uninstalling the driver)

1. Open Windows Device Manager.
   - Click on the Start rb:
   - Type Device Manager in Search
   - Hit Enter
   
2. In the Device Manager locate the device you wish to update the drivers for/look for a :warn:

Once drivers have been installed reboot.

Next, get an update for your BIOS version.

BIOS Version/Date	American Megatrends Inc. 212, 26/08/2009

AMI : American Megatrends Inc. : Home Page

Then download all updates from windows updates installed.

Well, I attempted to update my wireless adapter and it failed halfway through (but it said it was up to date, which at that point I posted again because I still encountered the BSOD). I booted into safe mode, uninstalled and reinstalled the wireless adapter and poof! Good as new! I still do have another issue of my Windows updates not working, but I am downloading them manually instead and running anti-malware.
