Hello,

I have been having a very annoying error ever since ive built my new pc. Whenever i play a game that is even slightly demanding i get a Bsod and the pc restarts (Its not a typical bsod as in my screen does not display a blue screen, it instead displays a grey screen with black vertical lines all over it). After seeing the error message that windows shows after the restart it seems to be an error 124 which apparently is a hardware error. Thinking it might be a faulty PSU i changed it since it was not a very good brand anyway. I got a CS650M at its place. The same problem continues. I have ran both memtest and prime 95 for many hours with no errors.Whenever i try to run furmark to test the gpu my pc instantly crashes. Thinking it is probably a bad gpu i gave it to the shop where i bought it from so that they can test it (i bought it last month so the warranty is still valid). According to them the Gpu is fine (the technician said that he had it running on benchmarks the entire night after i gave it to them and it didnt produce any errors). Also my temps seem to be fine (Cpu goes at 40 max and Gpu at 59 max). I am getting desperate here any help would be appreciated

Pc specs:
Cpu:amd Fx 4300
Gpu:Sapphire R7 370 4gb
Ram:Kingston ddr3 8gb hyperx black
Psu:Corsair CS650M
Ssd: OCZ vertex 3

Hello Shik and welcome to 7forums! :)

This might not be the final fix for your problem but your grapics card drivers are outdated by almost half a year, so please head on over here:

Oh yeah apologies i forgot to mention it. I have tried updating them with the newest from ATI. Same problem persists. The reason the drivers are so old is because i was trying to use the drivers that came with the GPU (to no success i might add). I also reinstalled the OS so that the system would be clean and ready for troubleshooting:D .I will follow your advice though :p

Right well have you installed the latest chipset drivers for your computer, because I think there is an error with the CPU rather than the GPU, I only asked you to update it because of what you originally said in your first post but what you just said explains it all.

Oh and if you are overclocking please stop it!

But this doesn't per se mean that there is something wrong with the CPU itself, it can be outdated chipset drivers, faulty BIOS version, etc.

Please head on over to Gigabyte's Support download page and download the chipset drivers for your motherboard:

Ok downloaded and installed the latest chipset driver, problem is still there. Also took the liberty of letting windows update run to get all the updates for my OS (it downloaded a whopping 192 updates:p) .I also checked the BIOS version and its the latest released for this mobo. Do you want me to try downgrading and then upgrading it again? There are a total of 2 versions in gigabyte's site. Also thanks for the help, i appreciate it :D

Edit: Also i have not done any OC'ing everything is stock except the GPU which is OC'ed by default (I did try lowering both the core and vram clocks on it though to see if it helps, it didn't). Something being wrong with the CPU actually seems to match what the dump files say although i don't have a lot of experience reading and interpreting them. Although I just bought it so I doubt its faulty (I do have an FX 4100 to use for testing though, actually i'll do just that. I'll post with the results)

A new upload from the dm log collector from the BSOD Posting Instructions would come in handy if you still require help :)

With the clean installation you changed your activation which is counterfeit.
Your current Product ID is from Acer/Gateway/Packard, but is an oem_slp which are used for pre-installations like on laptops.
Why an oem_slp can't be used is the way how it works with the BIOS, this can't be activated unless done with a crack.
