I'm glad you both got this computer fixed; well done.

I would just like to add a little reminder.
As far as I'm concerned all those programs like Driver Update are garbage and cause many problems.
They are very hard to remove completely because they get into everything.

I agree with you on those programs, Jack. That's 100% true. I am not sure how much thanks I deserve, Winsome did all the work. But, thanks anyway.

I have one more note to add regarding this thread. A few days ago my chrome browser got totally highjacked by some sort of malware. The only way out was to end the app in Task Manager. My solution was to uninstall MS Security Essentials and re-install Avira Antivirus (Free version). The first Avira scan I ran detected 9 adware files. MS Security Essentials detected nothing when I ran it the last time before the uninstall. So I let Avira remove those bad guys and my Chrome is fine.

Had 2 BSODs today. Ran sfc /scannow 3 times but still displaying "found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them".

Also look in your Windows Updates and click on installed updates. See if you have KB3022345 and KB3068708 installed. If you do, uninstall them (http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/24373-windows-update-uninstall-update.html), reboot and try the sfc scan again.

ESET online scanner: 46 Detections

Superantispyware: various detections - I use this one all the time

Also look in your Windows Updates and click on installed updates.
See if you have KB3022345 and KB3068708 installed: found both of these and uninstalled.

Ran sfc: windows found no integrity violations

I'm glad it worked for you. I hope it solves tour BSOD problem. Watch for those 2 Updates, they will come back to be installed. Right click them and select hide.
