Hi all... I was asked to look at a relatives laptop and have not been having much luck in solving the issue. I originally just viewed the dmp file and it looked as though it was being possibly cause by a network driver.

Basically, everytime the computer starts up, around where you would normally be logging into your windows account the BSOD occurs.

I will attach the SF Diagnostic files. If I left out anything of importance just ask.

Thanks in advance.

RAM... ram can be a cause of BSOD. If there are 2 sticks of RAM try pulling one and booting. if the same error occurs try switching the RAM around and boot again.

post back.

Ok I tried switching the ram around, then just running one or the other. Regardless the BSOD still prevails.

okay... so RAM is not the issue.

next step. are there any important files on the laptop? can they be backed up?

next... do you have the installation disks and the product key?

i'm thinking that by the time you are done looking at the issue it maybe best just to complete a fresh install.

On Tue 24/09/2013 4:20:44 PM GMT your computer crashed
crash dump file: E:\BSOD\092413-24429-01.dmp
uptime: 00:00:52
This was probably caused by the following module: athrx.sys (athrx+0x47677)
Bugcheck code: 0xD1 (0x10, 0x2, 0x0, 0xFFFFF880014A4566)
Error: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Code:
Product Type	Atheros AR9285 802.11b/g WiFi Adapter

Most of the problems point to athrx.sys, the Atheros WLAN driver. Update it using this link:

Drivers for Atheros AR9285 and Windows 7

Check to see if the BSOD's return - if they do, upload a new SF tool output.

Golden, after updating the Atheros drivers I was able to log into windows successfully. I will keep you posted, if anything occurs in the next 24 hours or so, otherwise I will mark the thread as Fixed.

I appreciate everyones help.
