Hello,

This is my first time here. I read hopefuly everything I need to know before posting.
I got a relatively new computer, around 1 month old, on parts and lately I've been having some issues.
As you will see, I got 3 crashes total, 2 of which are identical and other is different. The ones that are the same, didn't show me a BSOD just froze and then restarted, the last time when windows booted I couldn't use the mouse or keyboard. This was during gaming. And the first one was a BSOD while i was randomly browsing.

Hope I can solve this somehow. Thank you!

Install Service pack 1 and all other windows updates. Otherwise the system will remain vulnerable to threats.

widely caused for a missing service pack (with some other critical reasons). So it is a must.

The middle one points to Avast antivirus.

Uninstall Avast using Avast Uninstall Utility. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
Download, install and update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

The latest one itself is not very clear, but a deeper search reveals display driver failure.
Code:

All the available driver versions for a GTX 760 are unstable. Still you may try to roll the driver back to earlier one that worked stable there.

Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known BSOD causer. Uninstall Daemon Tools at first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :

  • Double click to open it.
  • Click this button only:
  • 2012-12-13_224441.jpg
  • If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.
Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept then restart.
Let us know the results.

I am instaling SP1 now, I uninstaled the antivirus and reinstaled all my drivers not just the video card one. I guess I'll have to wait and see. It was 3 days in a row now, hopefully there won't be a forth time.
