Hey guys how are you?

My client gets a BSOD during work.

Go to https://downloadcenter.intel.com/ ... search for any possible update to the Intel graphics driver.

Let us know the results.

UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP (7f)
This means a trap occurred in kernel mode, and it's a trap of a kind
that the kernel isn't allowed to have/catch (bound trap) or that
is always instant death (double fault). The first number in the
bugcheck params is the number of the trap (8 = double fault, etc)
Consult an Intel x86 family manual to learn more about what these
traps are. Here is a *portion* of those codes:
If kv shows a taskGate
use .tss on the part before the colon, then kv.
Else if kv shows a trapframe
        use .trap on that value
Else
.trap on the appropriate frame will show where the trap was taken
(on x86, this will be the ebp that goes with the procedure KiTrap)
Endif
kb will then show the corrected stack.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000008, EXCEPTION_DOUBLE_FAULT
Arg2: 0000000080050033
Arg3: 00000000000406f8

Here you go sir, that's the latest log.
About the DM Collector data, that's already present in my first post.

Intel does have updated drivers for Intel HD graphics, and if the driver is not updated, it certainly wont help.

As the data attached with the original post is incomplete, we cannot proceed anymore without having the complete set of data.

Here you go sir, freshly created set of DM logs :)
What i've tried before is going into lenovo's website and downloading the latest driver from there.
When i tried the same thing with intel's website and started the wizard, it immediately gave me an error the said this installation doesnt match the hardware installed and kicked me out.

Now see what is there in https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24696/Intel-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-8-1-64-bithttps://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24695/Intel-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-8-1-32bit So the installed driver was not the latest at all.

Now the situation is ... your computer manufacturer does not have the latest driver listed with them. At the same time their custom settings are not allowing you to update to the latest driver.

So the decision is on you. Do you want to stay with teh manufacturer's customization and have the issue, or do you want to break those bullshits and use your computer at your own?

If you want to go with the second way, only then you upload your MSINFO32.nfo file.

  1. Click on the start button
  2. Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
  3. File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
  4. Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
  5. Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.
Because the uploaded zip still does not contain this file.

The MSINFO32 file says that you have a single graphics option, that is the Intel HD Graphics 3000. I was thinking that there may be an option of switchable graphics, but it is not the case.

A formatting and clean reinstall will get you rid of the manufacturers bloated junks. Go for it.

I think I need to justify why the clean install is the only option (not the final, but the first) here.

This BSOD is occurring due to a driver failure. The driver is intel HD graphics driver. The device that is driven by the driver is Intel HD graphics 3000. The exactly matching latest driver is not being installed there saying the hardware is not compatible.

That may have two possible alternative interpretations. First, there is some manufacturer's settings that is blocking driver install, they will accept some custom modded drivers only. Second, the graphics hardware is failing.

In either case, a clean install is needed. If the manufacturer's settings are created by the software environment, then a clean install will break it and will make the system capable for a proper driver update. If the hardware is failing, then the device will not take any least driver even via the windows update after the clean reinstall. And that is why the clean install is needed.

It may be another case, the driver is not failing, and still the latest drivers are not being installed. Then we have to decide that Lenovo has applied some BIOS settings which is resisting a driver update when the driver is not a modded one. In that case we need to go in the BIOS and apply our own settings as if a normal computer. But that is the next step.

hope you will understand me.
