Hi guys. I recently picked up a Dell T5500 with a single Xeon 5645 from a friend to replace my aging Celeron 3300 that was entirely too slow for video editing. The machine runs great, boots quickly, but I get lockups either while editing or rendering in Vegas. One of two things happens, either a bluescreen or complete lockup.

I have run Memtest and gotten no errors, y-cruncher and others to stress the processor, nothing but running Vegas seems to cause the issue.

Any help would be greatly apprecitated!

Below is my collected logs.

Sorry, I wrote this in a hurry this morning, so I apologize if it is not clear. The Xeon is in the 5500, the Celeron is in another computer which I am trying to transition from.

You are correct, the second drive in the 5500 is a 2TB, not 2GB. There should be about 50 GB left on the SSD, so hopefully that is enough space.

The blue screen is caused by "A clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor"

Some business computer motherboards could accept 2 CPUs but the picture of yours shows only one socket for a CPU [My experience with a board with 2 Intel Pentium Pro CPUs was some time ago]. I'd wonder if the BIOS has a setting to enable or disable a second CPU. Or maybe one of the cores in what you have is the issue?

I have tried running stress tests on the processor and have not had it lock up or blue screen. Anything else i might try?

Update the driver for the Audigy 2 ZS sound card. It looks like it might be a XP driver. There's an updated driver from 2010 that might work.

Not sure if this direct link will work. If it doesn't, search the Creative Support Site for drivers for the bold characters above.
