BSOD x124 RANDOM, ALSO IN SAFE MODE

User came to me to fix as having random BSOD's.

First check was that processor was running at 108(c). So stripped down and regreased CPU.

Temps now down to 70-80(c).

Although still getting random BSOD's with Stop error 000000124.

I've attached the DMP and XML file.

I've tested one memory stick at a time, and performed BIOS checks on memory and HD, and both came back PASS 100%.

Only thing i've noticed is, it gets quite hot in the HD bay area. Could the HD be on the way out and drawing too much power?

The laptop doesnt stay on for very long, so had to manually send the dmp and xml file to another computer, and upload from there. hope this is enough help.

Ran mem test in hirens boot cd, and received some errors on first pass.

Removed oldest mem stick, and reran test. No errors after a few passes.

Also stripped down and regreased cpu, as i think i put too much AS5 on the cpu.

No BSOD so far, but hd and general temps are still quite high.

Hd = 45c

Do these sempron cpus general have high system temps?

Okay first of all, one of your sticks are failing. Second it's a bad cooler, replace it.

Have you tested other sticks in the same slot? It could be the slot is faulty.

Those temperatures are reaching the limit, but it is not a problem with a good cooler.
