BSOD installing Windows-7 Pro during the first download of Updates.

The PC is older.
The Hard Drive is brand new.
Was using the HP System Recovery Disks supplied by HP.
No other software has been installed.
My guess is the PC hardware is the problem.
Where do I start?

Test RAM with memtest86 (RAM - Test with Memtest86+)

Thank you for the suggestion.
I started it running at 1100am and will let it run for 24 hours.
Hopefully, it will report a failure before that.

As a side note:
Early this morning, there was another BSOD.
In the text it said Memory_Management error.

I ran it for just over 24 hours with no errors, 18 Passes.
I checked the Thumb Drive, it appears that nothing other than the Boot application was written to it.

There should be 8 passes in this memtest. Oh and the tutorial I pasted says about memtest86 + I recommend you to test with memtest86 (without +) unless you tested memory with this program. You can also try to tweak or lower the clocks or timings of RAM, combine with enabling and disabling XMP profiles (as you have this option in the BIOS)

I have reread your instructions.
I am confused.
How do I direct memtest to use a memtest version without a plus sign?
I have attached a screen showing what I installed, the one that is USB with *NEW* following it.
