I've been helping a friend try to find an i3 laptop for under $400 and had several choices discussed here: http://www.sevenforums.com/general-...e-new-budget-core-i3-laptops.html#post2339657

Doing this research it became apparent it probably wouldn't be long before i5's were coming down to that price range. Sure enough Best Buy has this Asus 3rd Generation Core i5 on sale Friday and Sat only: Asus KSeries 15.6" Laptop 4GB Memory 500GB Hard Drive K55A-SI50301P - Best Buy

What do you think? Too early to jump, maybe wait awhile for more i5's to come down for more choices? Or since he's ready to buy should he pick one up now?

Looks like a nice machine to me, I use Asus motherboards and have never had any problems. I also have an eepc which is flawless. Can they manage with Windows 8 or will that be a shock to the system? Probably make some salesman's day :D
Whatever and whenever you buy a computer etc next week something better is available for less so if you need it now buy it.
