Bug in Outlook 2010

There is an annoying bug in Outlook 2010 Beta. The program works fine except when I delete messages. The first one will delete OK. Sometimes the second one too. But the third one.... Well, it does one of 2 things: Either it will stay on the message until I move to the next one or it will jump me back to the beginning of the list. When it does that, it shows several of my old messages as bold unread, although I read them a month ago. Does the same if I hit the DEL key or click on the X.
I've been working around this by highlighting multiple messages and deleting once for all.

This is running the 64-bit version of Outlook 2010 in Win 7 64-bit.
I tried posting a "frown" to Microsoft on this, but no response.
Anyone else experiencing this? or is it just me?

Yea same issue here....I also am having problems with a charter email account but the same settings worked with Outlook 2007

Bad install?

I must have a bad install. Outlook 2010 is not behaving that way on deletes.

Same here, No issues with Outlook on my Windows 7 x64 installation. and I have 3 mailboxes on it.

Hi there.

Have you actually checked with another email program (for example Office 2007) that mail is REALLY deleted from the server.

I found with IMAP and outlook 2010 (64 bit version) that mail was STILL left on the server although you couldn't see any mail after delete in any folder in Outlook 2010.

I only found out about this fault when I got "Mail box full" error from the ISP even though according to Outlook 2010 my inbox on the server was EMPTY.

This occured on 2 different machines with Outlook 2010.

That's interesting. I'll go to Gmail's website and see, but I THINK I'm using POP3, not
IMAP

OK, I checked, and there's no mail left on the server, so that's not it.

I just uninstalled Office 2010 64-bit and installed the new one they are touting.. The 32-bit home & student version. But it seems like it has to download every time I use it. If that's so, I might go back and install the 32-bit Enterprise version.
All I had to do was save my Outlook.PST file and copy it back once I
got the 32-bit version set up and I'm in business again.

Awright, you guys. I have found the solution. After I installed the
Home & Student version, I deleted it again. It wanted to download something each time I used it. :shock: Something like a web-based program. PLUS, it wouldn't let me send messages. Anyway, I now have the full Office 2010 Enterprise Beta again, but I installed the 32-bit version this time and it's working just fine. No more problems with deleting messages. And it runs fast too, on my Q6600.

this worked for me...

I went in and turned off the conversations. Then I ran the 2010 beta repair option (which didn't seem to work). Then I ran windows update and rebooted the machine and 'magically' the problem resolved itself. I have no idea why, as there was no update to the beta installed during the win update process, but doing all of these things did finally work.
