I only recently downloaded, and installed Build 7068. I have very limited download and upload speeds and my bandwidth is limited. Is there anything that is really worth it so much that I should download 7077 (besides that it is an RC build)?

Hi Termana,

Being a fellow Aussie on a limited plan. I would wait for the RC.

I went from 7000 to 7068 which was what... a 3 month wait? 7068 will do me fine waiting for a month if the RC will be released at the end of May. If the RC comes out this Saturday, it would be a bonus!

If your not having any major drams with 7068, waiting a bit longer isn't going to hurt.

I do a complete reinstall. I keep important files on flash drives and external hard drives, especially since this hard drive in my laptop is starting to die.

@Termana - As smarteyeball stated, if you have no issues with 7068 then it is worth waiting.
@Timanator - It's always better to clean install, If you backup your files then you can with no worries.

It's slightly faster and the WMP bug was fixed. There's also a large increase in driver support.

I think Orbital Shark said it best...if you don't have any issues with 7068 and you are limited on bandwidth and download speed, there's not a big reason to upgrade.

I would also suggest not bothering with 7077 if your on a capped allowance. Wait for RC1 in May, its not that long ahead.

I have to say that I personally have not noticed much difference, but I suppose it depends what you use your OS for! I don't use Windows Media Player as I use Foobar....

foobar.jpg

If you have a limited download then like swarfega has said, probably not worth bothering with. Luckily I'm not restricted in any way, and as I'm a total Windows 7 addict and 'GEEK' I always get the latest, even though it's probably pointless for me! :geek:;)

Microsoft, you're teasing me too much now with all these leaked builds. Get it released!!! :mad2:

Microsoft say you cannot upgrade to RC1 Build 7100 from the Beta 7000, and from what I've read elsewhere, it cannot be upgraded from any other of the leaked betas except for Build 7077.

So if you want to do an upgrade to 7100 instead of a clean install, and you have Build 7068, then you'll need to download Build 7077 to upgrade via.

I already had Build 7077 and upgraded to 7100 successfully, so I didn't try upgrading from 7068 or 7000 to verify that you couldn't, but Microsoft officially say you can't upgrade from 7000 and of course they don't mention build 7068 or 7077 as no one is meant to have those releases.
