Hi,
A short foreword first...
Over the weekend (25-26 Jan)I installed a licensed copy of windows 7 on a newly partitioned drive, (all formatted etc), I normally use win 8.1 but I was experiencing problems with an application and I knew it worked on '7', so I wanted to revert back just solely for this application? Everything has been going fine this week, yes I have received the normal reminders, but I wanted to assess first before activation. As I need more space on the drive I expanded it by 150G this morning. When booting up, I am presented with the normal 'starting windows' followed by 'Logging in' and then 'Preparing your desktop'? after about 2 minutes a blank light blue screen comes up with the message 'Build 7601 This copy of windows is not genuine' in the bottom right hand corner. I am unable to proceed further from here with any diagnostic tool as windows will not start. I can open the 'Task Manger' (Ctrl+Alt+Del) but I'm not proficient enough to identify which task to open. I have also tried rebooting with the DVD and starting in 'Safe Mode'. I am grateful for any assistance you can provide and I apologise if I have not observed the proper rules.
Regards
Jim
