Burn A DVD

I've never burned a dvd before, so maybe someone here can help. I have a file I'd like to make a dvd of, but it is a .mov file. Windows DVD Maker says that it doesn't recognise that file type. I've tried converting it with Pazera MOV To AVI converter several times. Once, it converted it, but the picture was extremely sped up. Another time, it converted it, but the audio was out of sync. I'm currently trying to convert the file with Quicktime by exporting it as an AVI file, but the first time I tried it, it froze at about 50 percent. The second time, it only made it to 30 percent. I'm trying it again right now and it seems to be working....so far. Is there a correct way to convert a MOV file to a burnable AVI ? Or is there a program that burns dvds from MOV files ?

Alright then. Can you burn a dvd of a MOV file ? I would like to burn a dvd that can play on a dvd or blu-ray player so that I can watch it on an actual tv. But can't use a mov to burn a dvd, right ? I've tried to encode an AVI from the MOV and it will work, but the picture is either sped up with no sound or the file has the right picture speed, but the sound is half a second to a second behind the action. Please help.

I've spent all day trying to convert the file to an AVI. I run it through, but the audio is about a second ahead of the video. So, I try again. This time, the video is really sped up, and there is no sound. I've tried....

Any Video Converter - no matter what I did, the audio was out of sync
Pazer MOV TO AVI - same thing. Either the audio was out of sync or the picture ran fast

used Quicktime to export to an AVI - this worked the least out of the bunch. It would convert the file, but the picture would be all blocky, plus the audio was out of sync. If I put the file up somewhere so that someone could download it, would it be possible for someone with more experience to convert the MOV file to a burnable AVI file ? The file is the movie, The Peanut Butter Solution. The audio is fine for about the first 10 minutes or so, then goes a second out of sync. I noticed this problem with the original file and, in Quicktime, separated the audio and the video and added the sound back into the picture (or the picture to the sound. This is only the second time that I've done this so it's hard to remember) and the movie works fine as a MOV file. The sound is perfectly synced. But if I try to convert the file in any way, the audio goes back to being out of sync after 10 minutes. Can someone help me ? If I could get the file converted to an AVI with properly synced sound, I could make the dvd myself. I just need someone to convert the file for me. Can someone do this ?

There is a program called "ConvertX2dvd" that will do it.

I don't have the money to get ConvertX2dvd. Wish I did, though, if it would work. What limitations does it have ? Does it put watermarks on unregistered encodes or maybe you only have a certain time limit ?

I tried a previous version since this new version you have to pay for. But when I converted the file, the picture worked....but there was no sound.

All the program will convert the video. It's just that the audio is abour a second ahead of the video. I don't expect much, but I'll try the program that you suggested...probably tomorrow.

I usually use Super Converter to convert files from different format. It's free and it works pretty well. I guess it's best to convert the .MOV file to .VOB file the use Windows DVD Maker and burn it to a disk. Just a suggestion.

Doesn't work. I've been trying every combination of settings that I can think of, but it doesn't work. The video will encode as long as I don't create any menus. But the audio is out of sync, with and without using the ignore time delay setting.
