C drive size for upgrade to win 10

To whom it may concern:
My laptop has one disk, the disk includes partitions: C:, D:, F:, E: and G: .
Each has about 50 GB. System drive is C. In order to upgrade to win 10 I need more space.
Questions: 1- Is is possible to delete partition D (after backup the files) and then extend C: (via command prompt or diskmanagement) so that all partition D space shall join to C?
2-I downloaded a program named diskgenius, according to this software, it is possible to transfer some space from one partition to another without deleting files in partition, is this program reliable?

Diskgenius is good.

If you have no experience at thsi kind of thing, better post a screenshot of the disk layout before you do anything.

Thanks for the responses, so diskgenius is good, what about the first way? deleting D: partition which is next to C: partition?
also to take a snapshot I can employ printscreen or snipping tool, yet, I checked all partitions with chkdsk already, they seem to be healthy with no bad sectors, I think I employ diskgenius.

A screenshot would help us to say if there may be unexpected problems if you make the changes.

Here is the snapshot, also, I set some restore points, after operation irrespective of its positive or negative results, could I employ them to return back to the original state?

One point to add, on average, an install of Windows 10 including the latest updates to the base 1909 is actually smaller than the Windows 7 without any updates.

Although I agree that 50GB is undersized for a usual windows install, as you have been running in this space with windows 7, windows 10 should work fine also.

There is another factor to consider, if you are considering an upgrade from within Windows 7 rather than a clean install, the default is to store the existing (Windows 7), install, in a Windows Old file to facilitate the ten day roll back recovery option if the install has issues.

I would advise that you follow the instructions above to expand the C: system drive space, but once installed you could if you wish return the partitions to as they are now and run as you are now without problems. I would not advise running windows of any version in a tight space as it does tend to need space to "breathe" if it is to run efficiently
